Docking zero turn distance

It seems like yarbo essentially zero turns right in front of the dock before a docking event and then backs in. This usually has the tracks dig a hole right in front of the dock and makes it harder for yarbo to dock in the future. The entire problem could be solved if we could set yarbo to perform the turn just a couple feet further in front of the dock (where I have pavement) and have a slightly longer back in. Ideally this would be a configurable range.

@bdoherty103 - yes, this has been a complaint for a long time. And a fix is always promised in the next update. That is maybe …

To be fair, I don’t think they’ve ever promised to fix this. I really wish they would. I want it to smart turn out in the area and then back straight down the pathway onto the dock. Make reverse docking an option.

Yeah a long reverse docking option would be fantastic. Configurable to some extent even better

Just turn on Pathway Offset for dock Pathway. just kidding, do not do that.

Too late, I didn’t finish reading and did it anyways. :joy:

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I understand this need and will pass your feedback on to our team.

Kind of a crude workaround, but I just bought some stable mats from my local tractor supply and put them down around the dock. I started with one and then ended up having to add more because it seemed to sense that I was trying to thwart its tunneling operation and increased the range of efforts. But eventually, I was able to keep it contained.

I’m chuckling. Feel free to let your family know you are funny.

Don’t turn your back on it for a second. Mine threw temper tantrum last year after an update and shredded it’s sunshade house - just can’t have nice things.

I think there is room for improvement regarding the docking.

In front of my dock it’s now just mud. All grass is worn away. Will put a plastic grass mat in front of the dock to avoid the mower getting damaged by mud and soil. Hopefully natural grass will grow through the mat.

The best would be if the mower could drive in reverse from the end of session all the way to the dock. That would have the least wear on the lawn and the smart turns would be spread all over the lawn.

Also there is improvement potential for the path to each area. Now it always follows the same tracks making a worn path in the lawn. It would be great to have an offset (user defined?) so the mower could use a path that was 3 mowers wide alternating using them.

Just my 5 cents.
