I’m working with Yarbo for a charging dock issue. I don’t see a problem with this connector, but does anyone put an extension cord protector on this? There was a time this winter when this connector was under 4 feet of snow.
If I was you, I’d protect it not only from snow, but from UV (sun) as well.
There is supposed to be a cable protector that I believe covers that. Doesn’t look like it would work in your scenario, but I would definitely consider protecting it from being submerged if it ever is. Also, for your current situation, there is another connector underneath the dock that I’ve seen people have issues with corrosion on the 23 version of the dock. You may want to check it if you haven’t.
Hi there, we do provide both a short cable ramp and a long cable ramp along with the docking station. You may try using them to see if they help provide additional protection for the cable and connector area.
Don’t think the included covers are going to work with that connector.
The “ramp” wasn’t to protect the connection, it was to protect the wiring. I have it, but my wiring isn’t in a place that it needs to be protected.
I 3d printed a “cover” for the connection. It allows airflow through, but will keep direct rain and snow off it. I had an extension cord cover on it, but that allowed moisture buildup.
I’m having charging dock issues, but after cleaning and ensuring this connection is robust, my dock issues are persistent
The ramp is to protect the wiring, not ensure a waterproof connection.
