Title: Real-Time SMS Notifications with Camera Snapshots for Critical Events (Collision, E-Stop, Slippage)
I would like to request a new feature that enhances real-time situational awareness and security for owners when Yarbo is operating autonomously.
Feature Overview
An optional configuration setting that allows Yarbo to automatically capture photos from all onboard cameras and send them via SMS text message to the owner immediately when specific operational events occur.
Trigger Events
The SMS notification and photo capture should be triggered by events including, but not limited to:
- Collisions (bumper or sensor triggers)
- Track slippage / getting stuck
- Navigating or encountering unexpected obstacles
- Person detected in the operating zone
- Emergency Stop (E-Stop) activation
- Camera blocked
- Any error condition
Why This is Important
While push notifications in the app are helpful, they are easy to miss and don’t contain enough information to determine if intervention is required. An SMS text message cuts through the noise. Receiving immediate visual context (photos from all angles) allows owners to instantly see why the robot stopped or what it is encountering, letting them decide if they need to intervene. Snapshots can also provide instant documentation of issues or security concerns
