Tip of the Week

When clearing wet snow, it’s recommended to remove the diverter to prevent snow build up in the chute. Because wet snow is always sticky and condensed than fresh powdery snow, removing the diverter helps Yarbo to throw snow effortlessly and smoothly.

Q: What is Wi-Fi HaLow, and how does it enhance Yarbo’s performance?

A: Wi-Fi HaLow is an advanced wireless technology operating in the sub-1 GHz band, offering extended range, superior penetration through obstacles, and low power consumption. In Yarbo devices, it functions like an invisible Ethernet cable, ensuring robust and stable connectivity without relying on your existing internet setup. This enables Yarbo to operate smoothly using local networks (LAN) or NTRIP services for precise positioning, maintaining consistent performance even in large yards or challenging environments.

Yarbo Winter Storm Alert: Prepare for Snow!

A strong snow storm is approaching the US, bringing heavy snow and icy conditions to the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic. As the storm hits, we want to ensure your Yarbo operates smoothly through the snow—so we recommend starting it early to get ahead of the weather!

Quick Maintenance Tips:

  1. Use the scraper blade to clear the snow build-up on the RTK antennas and the auger, ensuring the snowblower is free of ice and snow to maintain smooth operation throughout the storm.

  2. To improve Yarbo’s performance during the snow storm, we recommend you to remove part or all of the protection fence of the snowblower. This will allow for more efficient snow clearing, especially in challenging conditions. Here’s how to do it: Unscrew the three screws on each side of the fence. Once that’s done, detach the lower bars by unscrewing them from the inside.

Key Error Codes to Watch During Snowstorm Operations:

A. Auger Overcurrent Errors:

  • OA001: Auger may be frozen or obstructed. Action: Check for ice or debris, then press “Clear Error.”

  • OA002/OA003: Snow is too thick. Action: Let Yarbo rest before resuming.

B. Chute Overcurrent Errors:

  • OC001/OC002/OC003: Chute may be blocked. Action: Clear blockages and press “Clear Error.”

C. Deflector Overcurrent Errors:

  • OD001/OD002/OD003: Deflector may be obstructed. Action: Clear blockages and press “Clear Error.”

:light_bulb: If you’ve pressed “Clear Error” and the error persists, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at support@yarbo.com.

People Have Been Asking:

Q: Why isn’t my auger working when blowing snow?

A: If your auger isn’t functioning as expected, it could be due to a loose or damaged shear pin. The shear pin connects the auger to the shaft, allowing it to work properly. If it’s lost or broken, the auger won’t operate efficiently.

Solution: Check the shear pin and replace it if needed to restore optimal performance.
How-to: Replace the Shear Pin

Tip of the Week: Decoding Heading DOP for Enhanced GPS Precision

“Heading DOP” (Horizontal Dilution of Precision) measures how satellite geometry impacts the accuracy of directional GPS data. Lower values indicate better alignment and higher precision, while higher values point to reduced reliability. If the Heading DOP value exceeds 2, it normally indicates a weak GPS signal. This is typically caused by obstructions around your Yarbo Core. To ensure optimal performance, relocate Yarbo to a clear, open space for better GPS signal strength.

Understanding Mower Turning Modes: Choosing the Best Fit for Your Lawn!

When selecting a turning mode for your mower, it’s essential to balance efficiency, precision, and lawn protection. Here’s a breakdown of the three available turning modes and how to choose the right one:

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Zero-Turn (0-Turn)

:white_check_mark: Minimal space requirement – The mower can turn in place with a zero-turn radius, making it ideal for narrow areas.
:warning: Potential turf damage – The wheels or tracks rotate in place, which may damage delicate lawns or soft ground.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: U-Turn

:white_check_mark: Lawn-friendly & aesthetically pleasing – Leaves clean, uniform lines without harming the grass. More efficient than Smart Turn.
:warning: Requires space – Needs a wider area to execute a smooth turn, making it unsuitable for tight spaces or obstacle-dense environments.
:warning: Lower efficiency – Compared to Zero-Turn, U-Turn can be slower in areas requiring frequent turns.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Smart Turn (3-Point Turn)

:white_check_mark: Best for narrow spaces – Allows turning in restricted areas where a full U-Turn isn’t possible.
:white_check_mark: Lawn protection – Causes minimal turf damage, making it the safest option for delicate lawns.
:warning: Slowest turning mode – Takes longer to complete, making it less efficient than U-Turn in open spaces.

Pre-Mow Checklist—Protect Your Yard & Yarbo!

Before powering on your Yarbo Lawn Mower, dodge hazards and ensure a flawless cut with this must-do routine:

:white_check_mark: Clear Debris: Rocks, sticks, or small branches? Sweep them away!

:white_check_mark: Check for Obstacles: Hoses, garden tools, or uneven terrain? Secure and mark them as the no-go zones first.

:warning: Special Note for Gravel-Heavy Yards:

Small Stones = Big Trouble: Gravel can jam blades unexpectedly. Clear them thoroughly!

Pro Removal Tips:

➔ Dethatcher + landscape rake combo is great for loosening and gathering debris.

➔ Boost Efficiency: Use a power rake for tough gravel or use a tractor sweeper attachment for large areas.

Yarbo Weekly FAQ : Your Questions, Answered
Q: Insufficient Light Detected?

A: Yarbo determines brightness using its front camera since it doesn’t have a built-in light sensor. If the camera feed appears too dark, it may trigger false detection. Try repositioning Yarbo to see if the error clears.

Q: Why Does the Mower Bump Into Fences or Edges?

A: When the mower travels around the perimeter, it does not engage in visual obstacle bypassing. This is because the mower is trying to avoid going out of the boundary, resulting in limited maneuverability. We’re continuously improving visual recognition and bypass algorithms for smoother navigation.

This gives you more control over how Yarbo reacts to complex edges like fences, trees, or garden decor. Test it out and adjust for the perfect balance of caution and confidence!

Do You Know What a No-Vision Zone Is—and How It Works?

A No-Vision Zone is an area where Yarbo’s camera-based obstacle detection is turned off. Within this zone, Yarbo won’t use its cameras to detect or bypass obstacles, allowing it to mow freely without visual interruptions.

:magnifying_glass_tilted_left: Why Use It?
Sometimes Yarbo avoids areas that are totally safe to mow—like shaded patches, mulch, or certain lawn textures. These can confuse the visual system, so by marking them as No-Vision Zones, you let Yarbo cut confidently without hesitation.

:warning: A Quick Reminder:
Obstacle detection is off in these zones, so only use them where you’re sure it’s safe. Yarbo will rely on its bumper—not vision—to detect objects.
