Is this with the metal studs installed on the tracks?
Very wet and heavy. It started as rain and changed to mixed and then to snow. It’s still 33F there. The snow was just starting to stick to the grass when I went to sleep, woke up to a few snowfall notifications…had I been able to trust the auto scheduling it might have start out OK, but it also wanted to pick “East Patrol” rather than the “first workplan” as stated in the FAQs…Also might have another bug as it’s not letting me delete my old patrol workplans(I thought I deleted those patrol paths anyways:sweat_smile:
, maybe another bug, was thinking to fix see if I could fix it in spring if I put the SAM on.

It does sound like the issue was a combination of the wet heavy snow, and too much accumulation before Yarbo’s first run.
Hopefully next time will be better.
What indication did you get that showed it would run East Patrol instead of the first plan?

Yeah, I’m curious if I would have left the auto run on, assuming it didn’t run the non-existent east patrol, if it would have done better…I didn’t trust my settings or the ability for it to get back to the dock without clearing…I might move the dock up front too. I totally wasn’t expecting this to go well😅, the minor accumulation earlier this year went unexpectedly well
It takes some fiddling, but once you get it dialed in and learn the nuances and idiosyncrasies, it’s pretty magical. Not always a hands off experience, but 100% better than doing it yourself.
That’s exactly my thought.
No home robotic product is 100% ‘set it and forget it’ or idiot proof. They all require a reasonable adjustment period, they all require periodic maintenance, and they don’t ever do 100% of the job you bought them for.
If I can offload 85% of the snow blowing tasks to Yarbo, I consider that to be a huge win. Bonus points if the percentage extends into the 90s.

Hah! Got it unstuck…unfortunately the battery was below 10% and it wouldn’t let me run the auger:melting_face:
. I shut it down and we’ll have to rescue it Friday when we get home. I tried pushing the snow a bit fairly successfully for a few minutes but eventually got stuck again when I tried to use the back of the Yarbo as a plow to turn more:sweat_smile:

. It really was so close…maybe I will move the dock for winter…I just didn’t want Yarbo up front. Gonna have to trench a conduit to run the power unless I can convince wifey to re-do the mini-flower garden:thinking:
Got anyone who can pull the battery and put it indoors?
It won’t heat it in the cold weather though. Gonna be tough on that battery.
Yuck. Sorry to see your Yarbo stuck in the snow like that.
I feel like this is another good example of why the external battery charging cable should be included with Yarbo.
No one wants to be lugging a dead 200 pound robot through the snow back to the garage to charge it! And most people really shouldn’t be trying to move it. Good way to get a heart attack.
Luckily I’m still young enough for now…I’ll blow a path with the 2 stage and/or tractor and it should be able to boot and drive to the dock…just a fluke storm, and I think I have better ways to handle something similar in the future. It will take a while to heat up and charge but should be good to go by the next day.
Hang in there Yarbo, spring is coming!
Especially since the wired charger and possibly (not entirely sure) the wired charging port on the core are not weather proof.
