Hot swapping batteries

I apologize if this has been answered, but I could not find the answer on the forum.

Can you swap out a battery during a job? Let’s say the Yarbo pro mower needs to charge, when it gets to the dock can you swap out the battery for a fully charged one and not lose the progress of the current job?

If so, what is the best way to do this?

To be honest, I don’t think anyone’s ever deliberately tried that before.

Sounds like you might need to be the guinea pig here!

My personal guess is that it won’t work. But would be interesting to see what happens.

Yes, this works fine. I do it periodically and actually did this about 2 weeks ago. You can swap the battery out at any time. Don’t even need to wait for it to go to the dock. Just screenshot your current plan progress so in case it doesn’t save it for some reason, you can restart the plan at that percentage/point.

Thank you for the reply. Can you tell me exactly how you do this? Do you shut it down, hit the emergency stop? How do you restart a job a a certain percentage?

Thanks

Pause the plan and you can either just pull the battery cable or go into settings and shutdown. When it boots, it should have the plan still active and just need to hit resume. If it doesn’t still have the plan active, when you hit start on your work plan and the first prompt comes up asking for start or preview, there is a slider to set the percentage you want it to start at. You can hit preview and make sure it lines up with where it was before and adjust accordingly before actually starting again.

I will note that it isn’t a hot swap of the battery. But it is a way to swap the battery and continue the plan from where it left off.

Wow. I learned something new today. Nice that the Workplan doesn’t get cancelled when you pull the battery.

Thanks ! I will try this.

Double batteries saved my :bacon: (bacon) this winter!

Going South saved mine.

Your house is still the only one on the block with snow still, I bet. Neighbors: “Why does he still have snow? Because he went south for the winter and didn’t dig out” :joy:

Ehh.. in central Ohio we didn’t get a ton. Just too much for me.

It’s all gone and been mowing for a couple weeks now.

Still way too soggy for Yarbo to do any mowing for me yet. Pretty frustrating actually cause the grass is starting to get tall. The ground is just too saturated with water for Yarbo to drive on it unless I want to turn my yard into a mud pit!

You need to request the blow dryer module.

That’s what the leaf blower module is for!

I vote mud pit and then battle bots of all your lawnmowers!

That would be a sight to see for sure!

I’m already the talk of the town cause of all the robots driving around…

Battle Bots next season filming now in Vegas. LOVE IT!

This worked perfectly. There was a longer delay to reboot than I anticipated, for a moment I thought the battery swap failed, but came online and continued on flawlessly.

Awesome, yeah the boot times seem longer lately. Glad to hear it’s working well for you.
