Twice now the unit has run out of battery (0%) while mowing and dies in the yard without attempting to return to the docking station. It is set to return at 15% which gives plenty of time, however this is a new and frustrating issue. It is not under trees and all *(yarbo, data center, and router) were reset prior to mowing.
Not sure why it happens to you but this option could at least allow you to drive it back to the charging station: Sleep on low battery - #7 by JNS
Dumb questions incoming…
If you look at the Yarbo’s main page in the app, does it continue to show 100%? There is a bug where that does (I’ve been looking at it for several mows today), and although it seems harmless and for me eventually shows the correct percent of charge, I’m wondering if in some cases it’s not just some kind of display issue in the App. Your battery sure should be going back to charge at the % you set.
Is it at all possible the rover took the remaining charge to try to get back to the Docking Station? I had that happen with the snowblower – it decided to return a bit late to charge, got too low to leave the auger on, and couldn’t clear the Pathway it was supposed to take, and the rover got stuck. oops.
I am guessing it suspended the plan for some unknown reason and sat there waiting for instruction and died. The question is why didn’t it send an alert when the battery was critically low. Or it could perhaps be the 100% thing you saw too.
When I went to check on progress in the app, the battery showed 0%. The battery percentage ran down as it should, but the device never turned for home at the low end.
So it was still mowing at zero percent?
Battery failure? Bad Cell? What if you set the percent to say 40% as a test to see if it makes it back to the docking station?
Thank you for sharing the details. This is an unusual issue and will require further investigation by our support team. We recommend opening a support ticket and including an estimated timestamp of when the issue occurred. This will help us look into it more effectively. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this for you.
For sure we need more control over alerts. There are some that I want to be persistent critical that need immediate attention. The only one I get reliably is completion of Work Plan. That’s great, but certainly not the most important.
Yeah they should just reprogram that one to be plan suspension since it’s so reliable.
