Maybe we could have a possible bypass when yarbo is at 20% left and it need one min to finish area.
You can pause the plan and edit the threshold down to 15% for return to charge. Then resume. A little inconvenient, but doable.
We understand that in situations like this, allowing Yarbo to finish its task before returning to the docking station would be the most efficient solution. We’ll pass your feedback to our product team to see if there’s a way to optimize the recharging process during a work plan. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
Thanks for answer.
@bryan.wheeler : good ideas. But because of no notification..i see this when i heard yarbo on docking so to late. But if i see this i ll do that next time
I love this and think of it similar to taking my EV on a roadtrip. It knows how much charge will be needed to get me to the destination and factors that into the plan. It also knows that I don’t always need to charge to 100% to finish the job.
So to expand this thought a bit, if the rover can forecast that the job can be completed (including return to the charging pad) with an XX% buffer, then continue the job.
On the other hand, isn’t that the point of this battery threshold setting? And is there a reason why 20% makes more sense than 5%. (in my EV, charging is faster between certain percentages and weather conditions)
For battery health you don’t usually want to go below 20% or above 80% frequently.
But there isn’t a way to limit it to 80% that I can find. Mine charges to 100%, unless it is in the middle of a plan and hits the 15% limit to return to the charger, in which case it charges to 80%, completes the plan, then comes back and charges to 100%.
It’s managing it in the background. As far as I can tell 100% just means more than 80% based on whatever the BMS determines is optimal.
@Bryan.wheeler For anyone new to Yarbo, the BMS is the Battery Maintenance System, correct?
Correct, Battery Management System. It’s a typical component for lithium batteries.
