M1 3d printed mulching blade

Thanks for the stl file, I’ll import into Alibre and try to design a metal version around your dimensions. I’m thinking of starting a prototype out of thin mild steel, and if that works, move to fancy titanium or thinner stainless, to try and keep it light weight but high strength.

edit: Will have to study blade design to see how to get the desired lift, but maybe just start with flat blades to get the balance right.

Looking forward to seeing it :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Home made printer… I love that!! I made my own CNC plasma cutter. Fun to use the machine you built right?

Tim

Sounds like a happy couple. :slightly_smiling_face:

That is awesome, I do wonder how close you guys could get to normal blades to fit and just how bad the power drop is on 150w motors

What’s the latest/greatest on mulching with the M1? I’m interested in trying it…Issues are poor cut performance with stock discs and razor blades in my field grass.

I’ve only used the one above on regular lawn grasses and weeds but it doesn’t seem to collect debris like the disc. I intend on using this design all next summer.

I’m interested in buying a set (I don’t have a 3d printer). Let me know if anyone wants to sell me a set. Thanks

If you’re in Ontario Canada. I might be able to print you some.

I am willing to pay for two sets as well along with shipping if possible…

I am in NY but can pay for shipping or send you a shipping label. No problem. Let me know

Count me in too. I’ll take a set. Thanks.

Lol. I’m not sure I want to get into this. 10 hours to print one, no guarantee they will hold up and liabilities?

Let me think on it

lol. Yea, that’s a lot of commitment. Can’t say I blame you.

Unfortunately, my 3D Resin printer can’t print something of that size. Otherwise I’d try printing it myself. Plus, I don’t think Resin prints are as durable anyway.

I got that. But think about it. I can sign a paper I will not sue you when it brakes down   But no pressure

Lol. I will think about it. 3d printers are great, until they start messing up. Then they need time and problem solving to get them running again.

At my age…problem solving is a challenge. Mostly because I’ve forgotten what I did last time :face_with_raised_eyebrow::sob::rofl:

Hey all. What’s the best way to get in touch with you if you what to purchase a modified, not warrantied or in anyway supported, mulching/cutting discs for a M1 mower. :winking_face_with_tongue:

I managed to print 2 sets of 2.

Price depends on shipping.
