Mulching blade availability for 2024 mower

Seeing as the Pro mower will have a mulching blade, will this blade be an option for 2024 mower owners?

Thanks for your question. The mulching blades are not compatible with the M1 module, so unfortunately they cannot be used with the 2024 mower.

That’s a real bummer, I don’t see why?

Seems like an adapter would be pretty easy.

Yes, should be possible, the new pro comes with disks and blade, can’t imagine they change the disks, so I think it will be compatible, nothing easier than drilling 4 holes in the blade to mount it on our M1.

In the pro they used bigger motors. Bigger blades on the M1 may not end well for the current motors.

Prob depends on the grass. If you are doing once a week, maybe it’ll be fine. Take a big pasture with tall grass…maybe not so much. Once you get the big blades up to full rpm, there is not a lot of continuous power needed to keep the blades at speed. I think the inertia of the rotating mass, like a flywheel gives you a lot of “peak” energy for grass cutting.
Anyway no one asked, but I thought I might throw in two cents!

Any word on when the so called “pro” model gets delivered? Will it be in time for this season?

Yarbo just put a FAQ out there on the Official Yarbo Community FB Group – includes that.

For those of us that want nothing to do with facebook do they typically post things multiple places?

I’m with you. I bailed on Facebook many years ago and am not going back.

Generally, yes from what I’ve heard from others. I can’t say for sure since I left Facebook many years ago as well.

Yarbo does sometimes cross-post to here, I think the weekly news and a regular summary of the stuff they’re working on, but not everything.

I use FB solely for Yarbo content and one or two other companies – that’s it. I’m not into posting pictures of my lunch. But if I get enough requests, maybe I will. (Feet pics u pay xtra.)

Yarbo’s two main Official FB groups and Yarbo Users and Community can be worth enduring for the worthwhile content, especially seeing what people run into and the suggested solutions. Matthew Healey’s adventures were fascinating (he’s now a Product Pioneer). That guy with the “Tips,” though – WOW – great stuff! (That would be Scott G., Tuesdays, Yarbo Owners USA FB Group.)

Anyway, the stuff’s not…ehh…“too” bad once you learn to brush by the drivel and the half dozen or so Zero Content Except Extreme Whining posters and one poster who will call you a “liar” if you claim your machine works. Who’d’a’thunk there’d be so much drama around a freakin’ piece of lawn equipment.

My concern would be if the mulching blade hit a rock is there a mechanism to keep from damaging the motors.

They mentioned that because the new mulching blades aren’t flails like the razors that they had to beef up not only the motors but the internal frame as well to handle any impacts.

I do not know if they also added a key to the shaft or have some mechanism to prevent motor damage. Good question.

While I think the M1 could run the blades and be fine with standard micro mulching, I wouldn’t advise it. They redesigned the spindle and mounting plate for the PRO if I recall correctly. Like you said Ken, the extra support frame was designed to take the impact of anything the blade hits and stops it. This would not exist on the M1 and therefore hitting something could potentially bend the spindle and knock the motor off its mounts. So it would be an out of warranty repair if something happened IMHO. Probably a good excuse to buy a Pro if that happens though.

The mower module on the current version is already so heavy and creating such a large moment of inertia that turns on a slope often fail with the track slippage error.

If the pro mower is even heavier I can’t see it working for us with sloping yards.

The mower needs to be lighter and be designed to be as close to the center of the tracks as possible.

It seems Yarbo is going in the opposite direction.
