Hello, I have recently demo’d the Bobcat zero turn autonomous mower. It uses a third part device to map out no go zones. That left me wondering if we could just use our phone to map the no go zone area vs having to drive the robot over and around the space. I understand you can add an area as well but that is pretty hard on the small phone screen with no web app available manually drawing with the robot provides the best result yet is very time consuming moving them around the yard.
I can see why this would be a useful idea, and I can see how it would be a trainwreck if the phone’s GPS is drifting by 10 feet and you cannot tell.

A phone’s GPS is not precise enough for centimeter level accuracy like the RTK system. There’s a potential to do this with an external device that could leverage GPS and RTK, but I don’t think a phone (at least without an accessory) is ideal for this.
