I think it would be a great win for dealers and users with a lot of area to cover to have some sort of mobile RTK device that could be used to quickly map out no-go zones, areas, etc.
Similar to a surveyor wheel where the RTK antenna matches the machine but is much faster to maneuver to map out no go zones and to follow similar pattern (clockwise/counter clockwise, etc). Some sort of button to stop/start the mapping item would also be great to make mapping as efficient as possible
Once complete a test run with the actual yarbo could be required to have the user sign off on the map and adjust any issues.
Thanks for sharing your ideas! This is definitely an interesting concept, especially for dealers or users with very large properties.
I’ll continue following the community’s interest in this type of feature, and if more users show interest as well, I’ll help pass the feedback along to our product team for further consideration.
If you guys would open the RTK ntrip data from the DC this would allow anyone with a survey stick to connect and get the exact same corrections the yarbo rover gets. Then people could use free software like SWMaps to map features of their yard like no go zones and export that data in some format that the yarbo app could be programmed to ingest, adding the NGZs to the yarbo areas.
I made a simple survey stick for under $200 not including an old android phone I used for it. But it was very simple, I currently use rtk2go as a free correction server but if the DC could provide that, it would be much better.
