It seems like there is a lot of space between the rover and mower/blower. And the charging pad spot that works for my property is near the edge of the woods where I’ve seen chipmunks, squirrels, rabbits, moles/voles, and I’m guessing mice.
What do folks do to keep critters out of the insides. I’m worried about them nesting and chewing wires.
I think with the frequency this thing should be mowing, I can’t imagine it will be an issue. But if your concerned you could put some blood meal around the charging pad periodically or some other type of mouse deterrent.
You’d be surprised how open that unit is. You could always place a few bait stations around it so they have a better food source that will actually kill them. The snow blower does exercise the module when it gets below freezing out. Not much, but it is something.
After first losing a lawn tractor in my shed to a mouse nest inside the engine cowl and over $2k in squirrel damage to a car left on my driveway, I cannot afford to just hope. I cannot say it works or not, but this is the first attempt at keeping those bastards away from Yarbo.
Same problem. We live in the boonies on Whidbey Island, so there are always rodents in the fields. With birds of prey overhead all day long, poisons are not an option, so I need a deterrent in the spring and fall. Winter Yarbo is inside the garage, where traps are set. Can’t really set traps outside though, or we will be catching some rabbits!
Best of all would be to put the boards inside some FRP housings, something the critters will not be inclined to chew .
