I mow at night often. The wife’s concern is the noise when Yarbo returns to charge. “ready to charge” startles her. Muting Yarbo is the answer to that. Other than that Yarbo just does his thing.
I often see dew around 11 or midnight. If you’re ok with keeping an eye on it and making sure you don’t have buildup, you should be fine. I used to only mow at night. The other thing to consider is if you’ve ever had a track slippage or other thing that it pauses or suspends the plan for, it will be hours before you notice and can fix it.
I have mowed at night often. It is kind of cool to see Yarbo with its lights moving about the yard. As Bryan pointed out if you experience a problem you won’t know about until the morning. In fact, I experienced a track slippage during the night and I learned of it the next morning when I checked. I simply backed up manually and told it to resume. No other problem presented itself and I did it without leaving my warm bed.
I have had great results at night as well. Just pick your most reliable areas to mow at night. I have one large area with a gentle slope that takes 7 hours. That’s the first one I go to. I stay away from roads and other questionable trouble spots for obvious reasons. It is kinda cool to wake up and see it mowed
I agree with removing the blade guards and brackets. They will eventually cause you headaches.
You haven’t lived 'til you’re out at 2am with Yarbo in a snowstorm helping with cleanup and the occasional rescue. Seems nearly every storm was overnight this past winter. Good times. Can’t wait 'til next season. Yay.
can’t mow at night because it sees one little blade of grass and thinks it’s something else and goes around it then you end up with a yard that looks like a bad haircut. a lot of missed spots.
