This is regarding core replacement issues. This is third mow with the new core and no issues. No getting terrible results with GPS that most noticeable around buildings but also drops GPS out in the middle of the yard with no obstacles around. Datacenter has clear view of the sky mounted on my roof and seen in previous photos I’ve posted. Any ideas why it operated fine for a few days and now the GPS is inconsistent?
Ok, I shouldn’t say no issues because earlier I posted about it leaving gaps it missed mowing.
Looks like a loose or bad RTK antenna. Try making sure all the cable connections are tight and swap left to right and right to left. If the numbers improve on both, it was loose. If the numbers (total satellites and L2 satellites) move, then it’s a bad antenna. This could also explain your missed mowing lines. GPS went bad and it fell back to DR which looses precision over time and distance traveled.
Based on the screenshot you provided, the number of L2 satellites appears to be quite low, which can affect positioning accuracy and stability. We’d recommend trying Bryan’s suggestion to check whether the issue could be related to a loose or faulty antenna
Please feel free to keep us updated on what you find, and if the issue persists, we’ll be happy to look into it further with you.
Not sure where the author of the topic is from, but if it’s closer to eastern Europe, then it’s worth looking into the GPS JAM map GPSJAM GPS/GNSS Interference Map
There is an terrorist state jamming the GPS signals and that might impact the mower performance.
Maybe Yarbo could comment how sensitive is the whole RTK thing to the GPS jamming?
I’m going to guess very sensitive. At the end of the day it’s just radio frequencies. If they are jammed, quality will drop and it will stop with no GPS.
Thanks! I’m in Central Ohio so it doesn’t appear to be a jamming issue.
Your DC is having issues. Unplug the POE injector for 5 mins and plug it back in. See if the issues clear.
Is it possible to replace the RTK antenna on the DC to get better GPS coverage?
I see you’re on 4G. What is your HaLow status in the diagnostics there? Your GPS on the DC looks great.
What does your DC CNR values look like? See the scatterplot someone posted above. If you click Details in RTK under diagnostics, you can get this screen.
Ok, you have a HaLow issue. Check your DC and Rover HaLow antennas. Tallest one on the DC and smallest one on the back of the core. Try removing the rubber washer to see if you get better connection. -80 is poor. Closer to zero is better. Also should be TRUE when it’s connected.
Thanks Bryan I believe you are right when I mess around with that antenna on the core it gets connection and it is chewed up. I got a new one ordered
Any idea what chewed on it?
My dog
That sounds…ruff…

That’d likely do it. ![]()
