GPS again

I have used Yarbo for snow blowing over the winter, and I am now trying to set it up to mow the grass. I had some difficulty creating a work zone, due to GPS issues. I turned on PPVS and increased everything to the maximum setting. I have disabled both GPS and cell. I can start, the mowing job, but the rover always loses GPS and stops. It also has difficulty returning to base to charge, again GPS issues. I am running out of ideas. What else can I try? Thank you.

Looks to me like your DC isn’t optimally mounted or you have some bad RTK antennas. Have you tried swapping the antennas on the core? Is your DC at the roof line with 120 degree clear view of the sky?

Hi there, the GPS issue may be caused by different factors. You can try Bryan’s suggestion or refer to this article for some troubleshooting: What if Yarbo loses, or has a weak GPS signal? | Yarbo Wiki

If the issue still exists, please feel free to submit a support ticket with:

  • GPS icon status screenshot

  • Current RTK status and Adjust Angle values

  • Photos of Data Center and Core placement

  • Any error messages or DC indicator light patterns

We’ll be happy to help you further investigate.

It is at the roofline, and mostly clear view. We live on a wooded lot, so impossible to be perfect.

I have also swapped the antenna and there is no change.

Thanks!

Mind sharing some photos of the DC install? I would try swapping antennas on the core, left to right and right to left. Make sure the connections and antennas are tight. The connections from inside the core to the mounts themselves. Use the two provided wrenches to ensure those cables are tight.

Tightened up those cables, no noticeable change. I am using the shorter antenna from the pack, if that matters.

Below are two separate “RTK Details” screens. One shows satellites, the other nothing. Both were taken with the rover stopped due to GPS coverage. Like I mentioned, there are lots of trees on my property, much higher than I can mount the data center. If they are blocking it, I guess

I am simply out of luck. GPS seems to come and go. Sometimes the app icon is green, then nothing.

Well from that view of the DC it looks good to me. Not sure what is in front of it. I suspect antennas. Did you swap them around at all or just tighten them?

Both, I swapped them left to right and tightened up.

So if you notice, your satellites went from zero with the swap and tighten. How does your diagnostics look right now?

I’m sorry to hear about the issue. I’ve checked your support ticket in our system, and our team may need a bit more information to continue the investigation.

Could you please upload screenshots of the Diagnose page at the time the issue happens to your support ticket? This will help the team better understand what’s going on and move things forward.

This is what it looks like right now, sitting on the charging pad.

I guess it is doing it right now. I tried to send it out and this is what the app says. Below is the diagnostics photos.

I’m going to say that one of your antennas is marginal or busted. Do you have a spare or are you willing to buy one? Buying one may help get you up sooner. Support should send you one for warranty so you’d have a spare.

Agree with @bryan.wheeler. They can look physically perfect but are electrically noisy or failing.

Thanks for the update. I’ve attached this information to your support ticket, and our support team will follow up to investigate the issue further.

We appreciate your patience and will keep working toward identifying the root cause.
