Mow in Reverse

Add an option to allow yarbo to mow in reverse? For the M1, or the Pro with cutting discs attached, any reason it cant mow in reverse? I understand the solid blades are directional, but the cutting discs should be ok.

Might alleviate some tight turns?

IMHO, there is absolutely no reason it can’t mow in either direction even with the pro. If the reversed path looks bad, I will send it again like I already do. Since it won’t be turning as much it won’t be wearing and tearing on the grass as much and should also work a lot faster. Not a big deal IMO.

seems like a no brainer to me. An optional mode that cuts back and forth without turning around.

Just imagine how much quicker completing a mowing area would be without the turning. And consequently imagine how much less battery would end up being consumed.

Only problem is the robot’s length. Can’t mow up to the perimeter when backing up. Not even close. So you’d need like 4 (or more) perimeter laps wherever Yarbo backed up to the perimeter.

No bumper, and it likes to climb things or destroy itself.

A rear bumper we could purchase would be wonderful with a “mow in reverse” option.

Easy, just release that rear mounting bracket (you know the one promised for the leaf blower) and we could mount another mower head back there with it’s already built in bumper.

Ooo… imagine a mulched rough cut with the pro in front, and a finish cut with the razors on back… all in one pass.

Perfecto!

Or even more yarbos would go poof.

And flames too!

Thank you for sharing this suggestion. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback and explain the potential benefits of a reverse mowing mode.

At the moment, this is not a feature that we are actively planning to implement. However, I’ll continue to monitor the community’s interest in this idea. If we see more users expressing similar interest and use cases, I’ll be happy to pass that feedback along to our product team for further consideration.
