Reverse Cutting Disk Direction

Since the blades are double sided, instead of having to take them off and flip them around, it would be nice to be able to just tell the Yarbo to reverse the rotation direction to utilize the opposite side of the blade. I haven’t thought about it anymore than this - not sure if this is something that can be done in software or if the motors only spin one way, but just a neat thought I had. Maybe it’s already been discussed, idk.

My understanding is that spinning in the opposite direction would cause more clogging. They are designed to spin in only the one direction because of this. I’m sure the motors are capable of spinning in either direction and perhaps this would be useful as an anti clogging feature. Have the rover sit stationary and periodically reverse the blades to knock lose any buildup and or let the user manually spin them in reverse like the snow blower lets you reverse the auger to clear a clog.

What would also be really nice is if the discs could be removed by hand. Just a giant bolt with a round plastic or other hardened material that you can grip with one hand to unscrew and then remove the disc.

Thank you for sharing your idea — it’s a thoughtful suggestion! We actually explored this option during the development stage. While reversing the blade rotation to use the opposite edge does seem convenient, it also increases the risk of grass buildup and clogging within the mowing deck. Because of this potential issue, we decided not to move forward with this approach.

We really appreciate your input and interest in how the system could be improved!

not if finger lateral protection is removed. testing now and seems much efficient, as you know. With this modification now it is possible to add settings for inversion spin

give the possibility to inverse the spin, maybe if you are warried for grass cloat (not for me, i removed the guards) make a warining. but PLEASE give the possibility to all people are using mowler withoit guard (IT WORKS LIKE A GOD) to inverse the spin woth some settings.
It would be the only one in the world with a cutting efficiency and blade wear ratio never seen before.
simply give a warning and an assumption of no liability or damage.

Thank you for your suggestion! I’ve discussed this with our product team before, and their main concern is that reversing the spin could potentially cause grass clogs. I completely understand your point, especially in cases where the protection guard is removed. I’ll pass your feedback along to our product team again for further consideration. Thanks again for sharing your input!
