New Firmware, immediately results in a worse experience.

The planned path line definition is not entirely clear as to when it is ‘working’ on snow or deciding to have a joyride up the area it’s already done. It’s really only apparent that it was goofing off when I saw it in action with remaining snow on the ground to highlight the behavior.

What I do know, since this has been clearing several snow showers since December… is it wasn’t doing that before!

Well at least there’s some progress with switching the direction. As for the cameras, your app is at the latest 3.17.4 version?

Sure is, and has been before the firmware update to the core.

If the cameras don’t recover on their own, I would unplug the battery for 5 mins and the power to the POE injector on your DC for 5 mins as well. Reconnect power to the DC and then reconnect the battery cable and power up your core. Hopefully, that shakes out any of the gremlins. If not, there might be something else going on with your core that support needs to dig deeper into.

Little update here. Support made noises about checking my logs and then ensuring my device was online (it was) and then they would get back to me (they haven’t) so I am none the wiser.

We have had more snow since, we are getting more today. I have been able to use the advice you gave me to get the device to clear snow in the same direction as before so that it has been helpful but it is still not the same as it was before the firmware change. It now takes 10 mins longer to do the same work than before. It was always 35 mins and now the same area is 45 mins. Likely due to strange journeys up and down the driveway not doing any work!

The cameras have not worked since. I tried your trick to unplug battery and power down the DC and that did not help. Same as before, but it has not apparently hindered it’s operation too much, only the Smart Vision which to be fair is “Beta” - It was just not a problem before and nor was the ‘Left Camera disconnected’ message which seems to trouble everyone eventually, so? Meh.

The camera issue seems to be a little common lately. They posted over on the FB group this morning that they are working on a fix for it. Definitely not ideal, but as long as it’s out working that’s at least a good thing. I hope support gets back to you with something more concrete soon.

I would very much agree with @yarbo9 , since the update it takes much longer to get the same area done. When you have a driveway as long as mine it is very much noticed. What used to be 3 charges to get the same amount of snow done is now 5 charges.

And just as a side note, not that this has anything to do with the update, because it’s been the same behavior since I’ve owned it and used the Snow Blower. I wonder if anyone at Yarbo actually has tried to get a car unstuck from the snow. What I mean by this is when you try to get a car unstuck from the snow, you rock it back and forth, and finally, once you get momentum, you keep going so that you get unstuck. Now, with Yarbo, it works itself to get unstuck, but the minute it does get unstuck, it slams on the brakes and immediately gets itself stuck again. The best part is after it slams on the brakes, it drops down everything that caused it to get stuck in the first place (i.e., snowblower head), and then tries to drive forward again. If it would just keep its forward momentum and lower the snowblower, it wouldn’t get stuck.

Nevertheless, it feels like this upgrade went backwards.

Hi there,

Regarding the first issue you mentioned, we haven’t received similar feedback since the update. We suspect it may be related to the updated snow-throwing logic (the snow blower now pauses when adjusting the chute direction), but we’ll need to investigate further to confirm the root cause. We recommend submitting a support ticket so our team can take a closer look.

As for your feedback on the unstuck logic, we’ll be sure to share it with our team.

Thank you again for your feedback — we’re continuously working to optimize the product and provide a better user experience.

What i noticed on my drive is that before it was performing a constant arc around the curvature and now it converted the arc to tangent lines and every time it does this Yarbo stops and adjust the chute at which point Yarbo gets stuck. I also noticed that Yarbo backs into a snowbank when it turns. Before it drove towards it backed up and the turned. Now its trying to turn in the snowbank.
