Upcoming Update: Firmware V3.13.0 & App V3.18.1

Dear Yarbo Family,

We’re pleased to let you know that Firmware V3.13.0 and App V3.18.1 are on the way. The firmware update will be rolled out in batches over the next two weeks.

What’s included in this update?

Firmware V.3.13.0

New Features:

General

  1. Introduced an optional auto shutdown at low battery, helping protect the system and conserve power.

  2. Improved area management: all sub-areas are now retained after splitting and remain available for selection and use.

  3. Added battery charging optimization: charging automatically pauses near full capacity and resumes when the level drops, helping protect battery health and extend lifespan.

SAM

  1. Follow Me Mode now supports background operation, with the option to continue or stop when the screen is off.

Plow Blade

  1. Added a safety buffer option in plow mode, allowing users to adjust boundary distance for improved edge clearing performance.

Snow Blower

  1. Users can now choose which work plan is executed when an automatic schedule is triggered, instead of relying on the default plan.

Lawn Mower & Lawn Mower Pro

  1. Added a toggle for perimeter mowing laps, allowing users to enable or disable edge mowing as needed (including NGZ edges).

Optimizations & Bug Fixes:

General

  1. Side RGB lights now turn off when Yarbo is charging or inactive to reduce power consumption and improve user experience.

  2. Aligned Smart Vision voice volume with system volume settings for more consistent and intuitive control.

  3. Fixed an issue where maps could not be saved after editing an area.

Lawn Mower & Lawn Mower Pro

  1. Improved vehicle detection on pathways by adding confirmation logic to reduce false positives and prevent unnecessary stops or interruptions.

  2. Fixed an issue where switching to U-turn mode could prevent plans from starting.

Blower

  1. Improved obstacle handling when the front camera is blocked, reducing unnecessary avoidance triggers.

Snow Blower

  1. Refined turning behavior with smoother curved turns in certain scenarios, minimizing stops and unnecessary movements for more efficient and fluid operation.

  2. Fixed an issue where Yarbo could enter sidewalks rear-first instead of front-first.

App V.3.18.1

New Features:

General

  1. Added camera zoom-in: double-tap any camera view to enter zoom mode for clearer monitoring.

  2. Added NetRTK service integration for real-time positioning, with support for switching between Data Center and NetRTK in positioning settings.

Lawn Mower & Lawn Mower Pro

  1. Added a Pathway Offset feature to help avoid repeatedly using the same Pathway for travel.

  2. Added Path Offset, which automatically varies mowing paths to prevent Yarbo from following the same routes repeatedly.

Snow Blower

  1. Added an offset option for Work Twice, shifting the second pass to improve snow clearing coverage.

  2. Added Light Snow and Heavy Snow modes, along with Perimeter Blowing Laps, for more flexible and efficient snow clearing.

Optimizations:

General

  1. Refined the Yarbo Settings layout with a clearer structure and improved navigation, making it easier to find and manage key settings.

  2. Enhanced PPVS functionality and UI by introducing global and per-area settings, improving positioning stability and flexibility across different environments.

  3. Expanded the label system in Work Plans, allowing labels set in Area Settings to be displayed in the plan list.

  4. Improved label and layer visibility with clearer entry points and easier management directly within the My Yard map view.

  5. Enhanced the “Camera Blocked” alert to specify which camera is affected, enabling quicker identification and troubleshooting.

  6. Added a Notifications entry on the main page and work plan execution page for quick access to recent alerts and error messages.

  7. Optimized the controller UI layout for improved usability, reduced mis-touch, and clearer parameter adjustments.

  8. Improved overall app UI and copy for a more consistent and user-friendly experience.

Blower & Snow Blower

  1. Improved in-app error messages by clearly indicating the affected area when direction settings are missing.

How to update?

Make sure your Yarbo is powered on and connected to the internet. The new firmware will be installed automatically once it becomes available.

Note: If you have updated to the latest app version but have not yet received the firmware update, some existing features may be temporarily unavailable due to compatibility differences.

If you do not receive the update within two weeks, please contact us at support@yarbo.com for assistance.

Only a day late……

What sucks is yarbo finally makes potential improvements to the snowblower AFTER the season is over. Maybe instead of working on 15 things at once, try to improve the issues that are currently being used and are needed to function better.

Sounds like a nice update with some items that have been on the wish list for awhile. Thanks @Yarbo-Forum

Looking forward to testing out all of the improvements and enhancements.

Thanks to the entire Yarbo team for listening to customer feedback and continuing to improve our existing devices.

@Yarbo-Forum Any updated guess on the release of tow mode?

late May. Ken K said the other day.

Thanks @Kolbe. Did he put a year on that?

 “Next month,” he said to be correct. Probably not at the beginning of the month, but next month.

Unfortunately Tow Mode won’t be available in time for my first fertilizer treatment of the year, but I’ll have plenty of uses for it once it’s finally released.

I have the latest App version, not yet done the Firmware.

I an no longer able connect to the Yarbo from my house - I have to go and stand next to the Yarbo. It seems like the WiFi has changed/broken.

When I stand next to the Yarbo both it and my phone are on the same segment of my home nextwork - when I’m in my house is it a different subnet (no firewalls between the subnets) and different network name.

It used to work fine - and there have been no network changes on site.

Ideas?

Having your core on your home WiFi can cause inconsistent issues. HaLow is primary and should be used. WiFi if support asks for it. I would forget your home wifi network on the core and reboot and see if things improve.

Hmm, thanks. It has not been a problem before - but am happy to try it a different way. TBH I just didn’t realise that it would run on HaLow alone without the local WiFi … doh!

It certainly could be something else, but I’ve seen so many problems resolved by turning off home wifi to the core, it’s one of my go to’s for problem resolution. I just experienced it myself. Bound to it for support and forgot. Had communication drop outs when it was going in and out of wifi range.

I’ve switched off the wifi on the core and rebooted - and I still can’t access through the App from the house!
I’m not really sure where to look next - any ideas?
The mobile signal where I am, and where the core is, is not great.
The house wifi, paddock wifi (where the core is), and the shed wifi (where the data centre is) are all excellent and connected to eachother on different subnets.

If I’m not mistaken they should be under the same wifi network

These are some great improvements and options, thanks Yarbo! But this is the first app update where you can clearly see the scope creep. Last year, there were many items on the “wish list”, many users complaining that there wasn’t enough flexibility. But now there are users complaining that you need a master’s degree to figure it all out.

This is why people have to be patient when Yarbo doesn’t implement all the features everyone wants right when they want it. There is a lot of $#!+ to set up in the app now and it’s got to be the most flexible robot on the market. But it is sure to turn some users off when they have to set up 30 parameters for each area.

The perfect app for every type of user was never a possibility.

Can you post screenshots of your diagnostics. I’m guessing you’ll need to be next to the robot for that to work.

I have 2 units mowing 6 acers.

Loving the new app layout out and flexibility. Switching between live view and map view is soooo much better. Makes it a lot easier to sort out any issues I have as I am over an hours drive from where I have my units working.

There is one thing I would like to see but I start a new thread for that. It has to do with Video and bandwidth.

Looks like you also can’t Edit any existing areas until the new firmware hits. Tried to split an area to fix some problem spots and you can’t even start the process. The firmware can’t come soon enough.
