Firmware V3.11.0 & APP V3.16.3 Release Note

:loudspeaker: Dear Yarbo Family,

We’re thrilled to announce that a new update is on the way — Firmware V3.11.0 and App Version V3.16.3! :tada:

The rollout will begin on October 29th and will be released in batches. You should receive the update within one week.

If you haven’t received it by then, please reach out to us at support@yarbo.com for assistance.

Firmware V3.11.0 Update & Optimizations:

Update:

  1. Smart Vision is now available during work plans. Added support for real-time voice pickup and two-way communication.

  2. Introduced the Vision Zone feature, allowing users to adjust obstacle avoidance modes within defined zones, and removed the original No-Vision Zone feature (its functionality is now included in Vision Zone).

  3. Added rear obstacle avoidance feature to the Smart Assist and Blower modules.

  4. Added car detection feature to the Snow Blower module.

Optimization:

  1. Optimized Dead Reckoning algorithm to perform backtracking when GPS is restored, improving mapping accuracy during GPS signal loss.

  2. General server optimization to improve connection stability.

  3. Improved the visual segmentation model with a larger yard scene dataset, enhancing obstacle recognition accuracy and reducing false detections.

  4. Optimized Work Schedule Logic:Yarbo now resumes unfinished work when the next schedule for the same plan starts.

  5. Optimized the slope algorithm to prevent Yarbo from sliding outside boundaries on steep slopes and to ensure smoother deceleration when encountering inclines.

  6. Optimized route planning algorithm:

  • In Parallel, Checkboard, and Diamond route modes, the starting point of the internal route is now dynamically adjusted based on the selected number of perimeter laps, instead of always starting from the second loop.

  • Improved route planning logic for smoother transition to the starting point along the perimeter, reducing unnecessary travel.

App V3.16.3 Update & Optimizations

Update:

  1. Maps saved manually are now named “Manual Save + number” by default, and can be renamed.

Optimization

  1. Optimized in-app prompts for better clarity.

  2. Added a GPS loading animation to better indicate GPS status.

  3. Reverted to a north-facing map orientation for better consistency.

  4. Fixed an issue where the App forum access became invalid.

  5. Fixed an issue where the NPS survey could not be closed.

  6. Optimized some UX logic to provide a smoother user experience.

  7. Fixed an issue where settings for rollover & tilt detection, lift detection, and rain detection were not saved after restarting Yarbo.

:wrench: How to Update

  1. Make sure your Yarbo is powered on and connected to the internet — the firmware update will install automatically.

  2. Please make sure your Yarbo app is also updated to the latest version, as the new firmware requires compatibility with the newest app version.

We truly appreciate your continued support and patience as we work to deliver the best possible Yarbo experience.
If you have any questions or need help, please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@yarbo.com — we’re always happy to help! :speech_balloon:

No joy for me yet either.

Once I get the upgrade, I plan to do some adjustments to the snowblower zones I set up during the summer.

The snowblower was my original reason for buying Yarbo, as I hate dealing with snow in the winter!

@Yarbo-Forum has the phased rollout been stopped?

Usually by now I would have received the update but I have not received it yet.

It says within one week. That could be up to the 5th.

yes, but usually be day 3 I have the update. If the rollout is based on serial numbers, mine hasn’t changed.

But its the weekend, may not see it until Monday if the phased rollout is progressing.

I’m not sure how it’s based but I seem to get my updates either in the very beginning or the very end.

@ken.w.gregory - I had to reboot mine for it to show; it had apparently been applied but needed the reboot I guess. Was trying to address my on going GPS issues when I discovered so….

I’ve been rebooting it periodically. Still don’t have the update.

I doubt they are deploying on the weekends, probably Sunday evening at the earliest.

Back in the day, we wouldn’t deploy Friday thru Monday.

Tuesday makes sense, all hands on deck and a couple days to recover should things go off the rails.

What happened to letting you choose to install the update manually? I thought that was a change they put in a version or two back? This seems particularly bad because the new app is incompatible with things in the old firmware (smart vision). Not really a feature I use… but if you do it has essentially been disabled for up to a week…

yes. I use the cameras and I shouldn’t have updated the app when they don’t work before the robot is updated. It would be great to know so the app was updated after the robot.

I have a new issue with the update.

I have an area of lawn that is kind of narrow, about 2.3 yarbos wide. My unit mowes this area just fine but when it is time to charge, it creates a very big zagged pattern that will take it 50ish minutes to travel.

It never had this problem prior to the latest update.

I think it may be trying to randomize its path back to help with grass wear. You could maybe try making a pathway through that area for it to follow instead for now. I’d get a ticket open so they can maybe put some logic around constrained areas like that.

I have received the update and have started a blower plan and it’s 18% through the work plan. Haven’t noticed anything wonky so far. It’s about to relaunch mere in a moment. 1:00pm Eastern (MI).

I cannot connect via the app again, are they down again?
