Overlapping areas “no-no”?

Was told by support not to have multiple overlapping areas. I wasn’t aware you shouldn’t overlap areas?
Right now I have 3 areas on my driveways that are for different t snow needs. 1 is a 2 area snow blowing area. One is the main zone that blows medium. And the front of the driveway is turbo to handle the snow plow.

Area 2 is the full driveway but at a modest blower rate to handle “normal snow”

Area 3 is a custom area and sidewalk to handle some uneven driveway for my snow plow.

I think I can get down to 2 areas if I use the snow plow direction to handle the crack in the driveway (to avoid it catching while plowing)

However, if I can’t have an overlapping area, how does everyone else handle the front of the driveway? Do you just run turbo blower the whole area?

Were you having an issue that caused you to reach out to support ?

While frowned upon, I have not had any issues with overlapping areas. In fact, one such area is exactly what you described- I have overlapping zones at the end of my driveway so I can snowblow the apron differently than the rest of the driveway.

It’s generally frowned upon because that is typically where you will have issues of some sort. Mostly because you have to have pathways between them and they can’t start or end inside an overlap, etc. For support, easier to guide people away from them. If you aren’t having an issue with your overlaps, then I’d say keep them. If you are, post your map screenshot and the community can try and help.

Overlapping areas may sometimes cause issues, so we usually don’t recommend creating them. However, if your setup is working fine, it’s okay to continue using it. If you run into any specific problems, feel free to share them here and we’ll be happy to help you find a solution.
