Just wanting to get a few pictures, and ideas for mounts. Wall/Ground. Please and Thanks…
It might be helpful to understand a little about where you are thinking of mounting and thence can offer some suggestions. The best place is as high as you can go out in the open. The rover and the DC need to see the same exact satellites for the correction data to be useful. The least amount of obstructions around the DC, the better. The rover is obviously going to have to deal with changing obstructions blocking the GPS signal. The best way to ensure you don’t lose GPS signal is to give it a fighting chance with as many L2 satellites the DC and it can see at the same time.
Thanks went with a 25’ side of the house. I also put up adjustable satellite dish braces, not guy wires. That 90 degree pole was very floppy side to side with all the screws in place. Strong winds would put that DC on the ground. Maybe a little more strength in that design. No obstructions blocking the GPS signal. Rover will be about 25’ away from the DC on my wall. Same no obstructions. Working on a pad for charging pad. So looking at a couple of Youtubes. Do I really need to go back up the ladder and scan the RQ code on the DC? Saw one guy was able to BlueTooth to to the DC, and get it to pair with his phone. My is blinking green now. Was waiting until morning. Too late to be climbing a ladder tonight.
You do not have to scan the QR code. The install process talks about the QR code, but as long as you can connect VIA bluetooth it should sync up without the code.
If it’s blinking green, have you updated the DC firmware? I assume it has internet connectivity? Should be solid green if both are true.
The other important thing is to make sure that you bind the core to your account BEFORE initializing the data center. If you did the initialization first, then you will need to reinstall the DC in the app.
I haven’t updated the DC firmware. Core is still in the house after having to swap everything out with the damaged core. I wanted to get the location of the DC mounted in the best spot. As well as the pad to charge. I still need to place battery in core, and charge. I just finished all the weather proofing today. As it’s been so rainy as of late. Still need to put app on phone, and start working to the setup. I just tested to see what kind of lights I had going. So hard lined in to the router, POE, ect. Walked out to check the lighting on the DC. Next step tomorrow was App to phone, and Wife’s. Try to start pairing up everything, then updates, ect. Set up the base charging area. Then mapping the yard out. Would love to maybe get use to the Follow mode while working, and move supplies from the barn to the base charging area. Or am I getting ahead of my self?
Once you get the core activated and the DC online, it should firmware update and then you can use follow me mode all you want.
Awesome thanks. Just RQ the core. Set up the core through the app. Then the DC will uplink? Or Bluetooth to the DC. Then update?
The Data Center and rover are paired at the factory (for HaLow). Once the core is activated in the app (binded), then it should auto update the firmware on the core. The core needs to be idle to install it. That means app closed for at least 10 mins so it goes to sleep.
The Data Center setup process should guide you through the DC firmware update if I’m not mistaken and then the location selection and finally initialization of the Data Center. This writes GPS coordinates to it and the rover. The DC setup process is over Bluetooth. So is the firmware update. If it doesn’t prompt you to do an update, go into settings in the app, then data center settings. Connect to the DC and then you can check for updates and push it. It’s important to leave the app open during the update process.
