I have a Yarbo at a remote property that I wont be at much over the upcoming winter. I’m heading there this weekend to winterize the place and planning to bascially shut yarbo down and put it away for the winter. I plan to bring the battery home with me to maintain over the winter, I’ll likely swap it into my home yarbo every now and then to keep it healthy.
Just looking for input regarding updates, etc. With two Yarbos I’ll need to keep the home unit updated and the app updated; am I looking at any issues when I re-activate remote yarbo in the spring?
Any other tips or advice for hibernating a Yarbo? Thanks.
You should be fine with no updates for the period, worse case in the spring support might have to push the update to you if for some reason it does not pickup the update.
I’m sure you know if you have an earthen floor for your storage area there is higher likelihood of rusting of the equipment. Consider a 6mil or thicker plastic barrier under the Yarbo.
Should be fine and the updates if they don’t pull automatically in spring, support should be able to assist. As Growf mentioned, throw some WD40 or something on the metal parts to keep them protected against rust and corrosion. Keep it dry and protected as best as possible. I’d put something on the connectors to keep them from getting corroded if it is going to be sitting in humid or damp areas.
I’d probably drive it into a thick plastic yard bag or something similar and close it up. Reduce the chances of a rodent deciding to build a nest inside & chew up the wires.
