Release Notes / Plans / Roadmaps

I see several mentions of a release 7 coming but when I search I don’t see any details. Is there any kind of official / unofficial roadmap of what’s in release 7? Or future releases too - e.g., I’ve also heard they’re looking at some VSLAM functions that might address certain area GPS stalls and intervention. I did see a thread of some accepted feature recommendations, but would be good to know what’s being worked on and how it related to various issues being seen.

I agree, some roadmap with tentative dates would be ideal to be posted. Release 7 in theory will be out in the next week or two. Release notes will be posted once the release is finalized and gets out of PPP testing.

Thank you for your interest! The next update is currently expected to be released around mid-May, assuming everything goes smoothly.

Regarding the details of the release, we truly appreciate your curiosity and enthusiasm. At this stage, the update is still being finalized, so we’re not able to share specific information just yet. That said, we will publish detailed release notes once the update is officially available.

We value transparency and are happy to share more information as soon as it’s confirmed—especially on the features and improvements that matter most to you.

For example I got 3.8.18 pushed this morning. It also seemed to impact connectivity HaLow wasn’t working, Bluetooth was sketchy, etc… I restarted it after awhile which seemed to help, but I have no idea what I should be looking for on that front. I don’t think 3.8.18 is release 7, can’t find information on it in the forum, and don’t have any notes from support around it being anything specific to some of the issues we’re working through. Would just be nice to know.

There was an outage this morning and my theory is that this update was required to fix it. I’m sure more information is being compiled and will be sent out shortly

I got 3.8.18 as well, but no changelog…

I received 3.8.18 today. I would like a notification before an update is auto-installed, so that I can defer it if needed. Where can we find the changelog for 3.8.18?

Yep. For me, 3.8.18 pretty much ended all connectivity between the app and the core, except for via bluetooth.
The core is still getting RTK detail and will run jobs, but I get no remote connection other than bluetooth at this time (including cell, wifi, halo).
I am seeing traffic from the core over my wifi bridge, however.

V3.8.18 did the exact opposite for me, @steve. Do you need to power cycle your Data Center and reboot the rover to get this sorted? And restart the App? It resolved my connection issues that suddenly appeared early today.

About to try that, @ken. The rover didn’t resolve it, earlier.

Looks like success! I’ve nuked the wifi for the usual reasons. Sending the M1 out to a random Dead-End, the app indicates a 4G connection at 100meters, when I think it used to be halow. But don’t quote me. Kicks to/from bluetooth<->4G at about 30M.

Thank you for your message. Version 3.8.18 is a hotfix focused on a server-side update, and it doesn’t include any new user-facing features. For this reason, a detailed release note wasn’t provided. We appreciate your understanding, and thank you for your continued support!

And that is exactly what a changelog, should have said.

3.8.18:

  • serverside update

The End!

That is a changelog! Please ensure that this is communicated to the customers in advance for future updates.
