Has anyone removed the guards from the pro mower? I mowed about 20 times with the regular deck last year before I got anything stuck in it and then removed the guards and never had a problem after, the pro deck, despite having much smaller guards, seems to be getting a lot more stuck in them. I’ve not removed mine but I’ve not had issues with anything getting stuck in them either.

I don’t think it would be too complicated to remove. Remove those screws holding the guard on and put them back in the screw holes. [image]

From what I remember, I thought the same thing, but the black guard part is smaller than that silver disk attached to the motor with that big bolt in the middle… I wasn’t sure taking that off was a good idea. Would be that or to cut the guard off…

Ah yes, I see what you mean. Totally up to you, but I know some people removed that bolt plate on the M1 to clean the spindle of debris. It should be ok, just put some loctite on it after.

Did you end up taking them off? I keep getting sticks/chunks of wood stuck. I have a lot of trees. It does fine going over stuff, until it doesn’t.

Not yet… picked up the pinecones for now, lol. And agree, I assume it would be better for not getting clogged up with grass (I don’t ever mow wet grass so never really an issue for me) but somehow a good bit worse than the non pro version for bigger things… Let me know if you take it off and how i…

Other than an occasional stick getting wedged in the guards, I haven’t had an issue with any clogging. Even with wet grass.
