When it returns to the charging base, it should know exactly where it is, so why have it position itself in front of the base and then have it rotate to the rear to park instead of immediately positioning itself in the rear? It doesn’t make much sense.

Recommend giving this one a heart. Completely agree. Back right onto the dock. No need to go forward for the mower.

Docking return behavior

Rather than going “forward” down the path to the docking station and then rotating (needlessly?) right in front of it, running into things in the process, it would be better if it backed down the pathway. Instructions for a docking return path should tell you the “end” of the path should be in a clear area where it’s safe for the unit to spin around. This seems like it would avoid a lot of docking issues, unless the spinning at the station is for calibration purposed with GPS.
