Perimeter Execution Dirction

Sorry guys, but I’m not understanding exactly what this option is, and how it is intended to be beneficial for a snowblower, and the pros and cons of each option. Is there an explanation somewhere (that I so far am unable to find)?

While is says mower and SAM, it is available for the snow blower. It’s an option that is user preference. Do whichever makes the most sense for you and your area. Link to picture at the bottom.

Thanks, but…. again, I still don’t get it.

Example: I have Area #1. When there is snow, the yarbo goes out to Area #1, and in parallel rows goes back and forth to blow out the snow. So, I’m not seeing what this “perimeter” setting is all about. Is this something new whereby after it has completed the normal snowblowing for some reason I’m not getting the yarbo “feels” the need to drive around the perimeter of the area in question? I’m just not getting what problem this is going to solve, or what benefit it is providing. (We haven’t had any snow since this upgrade, so I have not been able to observe what this feature does.)

This setting applies to the first pass (perimeter) loop that Yarbo does in an area. Unless you are using slope mode it should execute a loop around the area before starting the work plan. For snow blowing, this creates a turn around space. Slope mode doesn’t do a perimeter pass. If that’s what you are using, then that is why you don’t see a benefit from this setting.

For non slope mode patterns, when it does the loop around you have the option which direction the core travels. This can be very helpful for mowing where say you want the core to go up a hill vs down.

Thank you, now I understand.

I never bothered observing the Yarbo’s movements that closely, I didn’t realize it did a perimeter loop to start. I’ll have to watch for that the next time. (I do not use the slope mode.)

For snow blowing, non-slope mode too it can help you run drifted/sloped areas better as well. If it’s lighter snow I can run the apron of our driveway in counter clockwise direction and it’s much more successful at breaking through the pile the plows put at the end of the driveway as it’s deeper on that end and slightly downhill. Dense/icey banks I run slope mode extended further out into the road(multiple no go zones toggled on or off) so Yarbo doesn’t try to zero turn in the snow plow bank.
