Provide an option such that if he chooses, a user may choose to label throwing directions for a work area. For a simple example, if I have three rectangular shaped areas, I might draw throwing “lines” on the right and left side of each area, and label those on the right as A lines, and those on the left as B lines. Then, when starting a work plan that involves those areas, if I have done such labelling, the app asks me if I want to use the A line, the B lines, or both. This way, on a windy day, depending on the strength and direction of the wind, I can simply select one or the other (or both), and don’t have to manually go into each area and mess with the throwing direction on each area before I start the work plan or after the plan has started.
So basically, you want the ability to select from pre-established snow throwing directions at the time you start a work plan, depending on which direction the wind is blowing that day.
I think that would be an awesome feature. Great idea!
Definitely a pretty common ask except usually people want the weather data to do it dynamically. This would be a good easy solution though.
My preference for an initial 1.0 release is to make it manual.

I would not be opposed to having the yarbo check local weather broadcasts to determine wind direction and speed as long as the user would have the option to ignore that and handle it manually as I proposed. I say that because I’ve learned wind can change a lot based on configuration of nearby buildings, so I’d like the ability to decide for myself which way the wind actually blows. Having said that…..
Rather than rely on a weather service that might not have wind data that is granular enough, or maybe put this way, rather than rely on just a weather service, I think it might be better to simply build the yarbo with this addon: A detachable stick that is about five feet tall that is mounted on the back side of the chute with an anemometer on top with a cable feeding the wind speed and direction data into the Yarbo’s onboard computer. (Of course, the Yarbo company would have to get their programmers and their AI tools to modify the software for the yarbo to use and respond to that data.) This would give the best localized wind data - the wind conditions the robot is actually facing.
