First, I love the idea of the circle template. I just let it do ‘gentle bumping’ last summer around all of my fruit trees, but this year I went and bought rubber, 24" mulch mats for around the trees. Seems like a perfect place to use the templates.
I set them all up, but the minimum size of the circle is bigger than the mats are, so now I have a ring of grass I need to trim around the outside of the mats. Add to that, I’m experiencing the extra 12" safety border that the Yarbo is leaving around the no-go zone.
I’d let it continue to bump to get the closest cut possible. As for the extra 12 inches, this seems to be a bug. But make sure you have enabled cutting around NGZ’s in the area settings. And you have your safety buffer at zero. If so, I’d recommend opening a ticket so they can figure out what the issue is and possibly correct it for you.
There is a minimum size limit for the No-Go Zone, so we’re sorry that if you’d like Yarbo not to leave an uncut ring of grass, you may still need to follow your original method and use gentle contact to cut around these trees.
As for the 12-inch safety buffer you mentioned, could you please check whether the safety buffer for that No-Go Zone is set to 0 in the area settings? If it is already set to 0 but the buffer is still there, we recommend submitting a support ticket so our team can better investigate the issue for you.
