I’m currently trying to set up tow mode. Leaves fall onto the grass and I bought a 42" leaf sweeper to attach it to Yarbo.
As the Tow mode mapping capabilities are rather limited, I thought to use Memory Paths to once set up the whole area manually, to be able to U-turn where space is available (actually more like a “P”) and cover the area once, to be able to simply repeat that work afterwards.
I have 2 mayor issues:
I cannot get any MP to be repeated. When I set up a workplan, I must include an area, only MP is not possible. Even then, the MP is simply ignored when running that workplan.
I was having difficulties using existing areas (which might be too complex shaped) so I created a new map with a rectangular area to be able to test. Only 1 area, linked to the charging station. I took a video of Yarbo, how it is ignoring the MP, riding to the start point, missing all turns, skipping all lines, doing a 360 degree rotation and then heading back home towards its charging station pathway. I didn’t have the sweeper attached, but watching it turn was still painful.
I see a trim edge on those memory paths. Did you make those with the trimmer attached? Have you removed the trimmer and enabled tow mode to create the memory paths? For tow mode memory paths you need to line up the core fairly closely with the memory path entrance. It won’t navigate there from a distance. It also won’t return to the dock when it’s done. While it will run the paths autonomously, toe mode is still somewhat of a manual intervention process.
Aah, I was yet wondering what the “snow throw direction” line meant on the MP!
No, I don’t own a Trimmer Module, I have the lawn mower pro connected and tried to get it to remember the path to run it with a mechanical leaf sweeper. Hence neither when recording the MP, nor when trying to run it, a trimmer was attached.
But it should work w/o trimmer module, right? On tow-mode wiki page, no trimmer is mentioned.
I will Drive Yarbo close to the MP start point before starting a WP (with MP as first item) and give an update shortly.
Yes, the plan should work without the trimmer. They are only available when you enable tow mode. You shouldn’t need the snow throw direction. That might be a factor, not sure.
I placed yarbo in front of MP startpoint, but it’s just ignoring that path and drives to the area-sequence. Starting a WP with only MP is not possible for me. (WP005).
When editing the MP, I cannot change the “direction”, possible changes are moving speed, if the blade is running and mowing hight.
Seeing yarbo do a 360 degrees right hand turn when it’s supposed to do a 90° left turn is just frustrating.
Hi there, Tow Mode is still in beta, and there are still areas where the experience needs further improvement.
Regarding the issue shown in your video, I noticed that Yarbo did not follow the generated route as expected. This behavior may require further investigation from our team. Please feel free to submit a support ticket with the video and any relevant details so we can look into the cause more closely.
As for the Memory Path direction, this is expected behavior at the moment. Memory Path currently supports one-way travel only, from the starting point to the ending point, so the travel direction cannot be reversed or changed after the path is created.
Yes, tow mode was enabled when trying (otherwise the map doesn’t show the MP).
Yesterday, I drove Yarbo right to the beginning of the MP, but it just ignores it and drives to the area-path. WP with only MP can be saved, but not previewed or started (giving the WP005 error).
Somehow I cannot open support Center from the app; maybe because of +postfix in gmail address?
How can I open a ticket to allow for further investigation?
This is a sure way to get to support to open a ticket. You can also call them, the phone number is on the site.
Personally I use the website support most of the time.
If so, put in your email but omit everything from the “+” to the “@“. So if you email was example+email@email.com just put in example@email.com and it should work.
