what does it mean
That’s how often it releases more string.
is it ok or how much should I put
It’s all ball bearings these days.
I’ve never needed to do more or less than the default of 5. Same with the moving speed but you may need to adjust those as needed if you find it’s eating more line than it lets out.
Just got my tracking numbers for both the mount and the trimmer. Happy that i received those and looking forward to test this out.
I know I am going to jinx this now but I have a feeling my little rant (I think I was nice, although) did help a bit. Which should not.
But anyway I will let you know how it goes.
Cheers
Any plans for some sort of auto feed detection? If the current of the motor can be measured/calibrated at steady state or some sort of pulsing speed of wind up/wind down, etc. Even feeding line out until it hits the cutting blade, should be detectible?
There’s some voodoo magic going on with the line feed detection for sure. There’s a lot of things to consider in detection. Vibration can throw all of that out the window. Then factor in moving, up/down, resistance against things being cut, etc. I’m sure it’s not easy to reasonably detect a lot of things reliably. If the string gets cut too short it does detect this and try and correct. You’ll hear it stop and start to feed out the spool a few times, but if it’s too short, centrifugal force doesn’t work and spools internally causing potential crossings and kinking. This is why thicker than the “rated” line is helpful. It holds up better and has more weight to fling outwards if cut shorter but also less prone to the latter.
Thanks for your patience. You should be receiving your tracking number soon.
@Yarbo-Forum To everyone? I haven’t gotten any notification yet.
Have you emailed support to get a status on your order?
No, didn’t feel like spamming their support line
Same here. I haven’t emailed support about it recently either.
They said they’re shipping in batches, so I assumed I would be getting tracking info soon. It’s not like they have thousands or even hundreds of trimmers to ship…
Thank you! I did today
I had a chance to test it a bit… there are some corrections to be made regarding the Yarbo’s movements when the trimmer is connected because sometimes it turns as if it were not there… be careful when reversing near obstacles… this evening it wanted to climb a plant and destroy my trimmer… thank goodness I was there. Yarbo will have to revise the rear view. As for the wire feed, it can sometimes give an error and stop… just pull the wire under the trimmer and hear it click.
Personally, I don’t think the line is too short or broken, at least in my case. I noticed that when there are bumps in the ground, the trimmer touches the ground, and I wouldn’t want this to loosen the line on the spool because the line was always the right length when it went wrong. I just had to re-tension it by pulling it until I heard the click.
@Yarbo-Forum I have messaged sorry and like @peterfabri18 I’ve been told to hold off without any new date or expect this by. Can you let me know if I’ll get the tracking numbers soon?
I could see this being a problem too if the line is pushed inward. That does make sense.
For me the thread was always the correct length when the error occurred… it was just loose on the spool.
Thanks for the observations. Appreciate it while I wait for my tracking number…
So have you found any way of avoiding the loose line problem yet?
