Trimmer delivery

Keep us posted how that works for you

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, but I can also report that the thicker line works much better. The original line was constantly giving me line feed errors from getting stuck or just sheared off at the hole in the spindle. With the 0.095 thick line, I still get issues with the line getting sheared off, but it doesn’t get stuck at all. It also seems to last much longer. I’ve only had a chance to do 2 full mows of all my areas and only just now spooled the second batch of the new line.

Trimmer arrived yesterday, BBM should be here today! Looks like filling the spools with 0.095 is the first task after opening everything.
Excited to give this thing a go and hopefully limit my manual trimming for the rest of the summer.

Here is the line I’m using. It was suggested to me by another user on the forums here.

My trimmer is out for delivery today. Looking forward to giving it a try. I already have my thicker line ready to be installed on the spool!

I just received my trimmer and am going to replace the line. People have talked about replacing the line with 0.95 smooth line but I generally use 0.95 twisted line (Echo Black Diamond). Has anyone experienced issues with using twisted line? Should I stick with smooth?

YOLO! :joy:

Trimmer arrived yesterday. Now waiting on the back brace mount.

Today is my Trimmer Day 1.

I installed thicker twisted line first thing. So far the line seems to work well. I haven’t had any issues with the line getting stuck.

Lots of other learning curve things going on, but the thicker line seems good to me so far.

Mine arrived and once I powered the unit up after the trimmer was installed, the core made some popping noises and smoked out. So now Ill need another core. My yarbo has been good up until the trimmer install. Not a great experience trying it out for me lol.

Did you start a plan and then it died, or just as soon as it powered up after a restart?

Did you have the original 2024 core that needed the white epoxy applied on the circuit board?

I just finished attaching the module and powered on and it starting making popping noises and then smoking. So I did not get to make a plan or even try it out.

Yes original 2024 and I put the epoxy on it along time ago which they sent to me. That yarbo was great until the trimmer was attached. I guess those models with those boards seem to be an issue

I’m very sorry this happened, especially right after installing the Trimmer. I can understand how disappointing that must have been after your Yarbo had been working well up until that point.

At this time, the replacement process has not been initiated yet. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused.

Please rest assured that our team will continue to follow up through your support ticket and work to get the replacement process moving as quickly as possible. We’ll keep you updated as soon as there is any progress.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thanks

My trimmer goes through line very rapidly. Although most of that is because my Florida lawn eats nylon line for breakfast. They actually sell hard plastic blades here that fit on most weedwacker heads, but that won’t work on this. Piano wire might be a good option but obviously that would damage the trimmer head. My best solution so far is a 0.98 line that has a cutting edge manufactured into it. That has allowed me to sometimes get more than one lawn trim per spool (but not always). Perhaps a “pro” trimmer can be developed with metal blades?

Different head options for use cases like that would be ideal. I would love to see a fixed blade option, but I would prefer plastic so as not to damage my fence. You are having no issues with the larger line? Only ever heard of trying up to 0.095

No, the larger line feeds fine. However, it does still snap when it hits some of my weeds. Just not nearly as often as the smaller Lines.

I don’t mind the cost of the line so much, it’s just that I live in a coastal town, I have a very pale complexion and I am a man of a certain girth. So I’m always afraid of a bunch of volunteers running up and trying to push me back into the water when they see me laying on the ground trying to re-feed the line under my Yarbo.

LOL. I may resemble that remark too.
