Weird routes

Anyone else seeing weird routing after the update? I mean it was sometimes weird before but now it’s a little extra odd sometimes. Even getting long calculation times and sometimes unable to calculate route:

How thorough were you about tagging pathways and areas?

Pathways you can’t tag but I double checked all the areas

could you please check whether there is anything fully blocking a valid passage within the working area? This can sometimes cause route calculation issues.

If this doesn’t seem to be the case, please feel free to submit a support ticket, and our support team will take a closer look and investigate further.

Edit[Not within the snow blower areas] Actually the lower 2 sidewalks are tagged for the snowblower, but I don’t have those scheduled and I don’t think I will schedule them, I did put some no-go zones blocking off routes to the neighbors yard just to make sure, I can probably remove the northern one, but neither are in areas tagged for the snow blower

It’s possible that the no-go zone in the lower-left corner is causing this behavior. You may want to try re-editing or adjusting that area and see if it resolves the issue.

I don’t think I’ll be able to clear there I’ll untag those, should that help? There’s really nothing that way it should be trying to calculation through. It’s been ok for the most part now, I redid the sidewalk that passes through the van NGZ, it’s finicky, even though the original NGZ that does a swath in front of the van is good.

It will avoid throwing snow at NGZ’s now, even if they are outside of the area. I think they also marked one that looks like it cuts off an area. That could give you a failed to calculate error.

Still seems to be shooting at NGZs here. I’ll try adjusting that NGZ, it was working the way I wanted during the summer, I don’t want Yarbo using the front sidewalk unless I’m sure the neighbors are not going to be using it, I mainly want him traversing through our back yards. Can a NGZ cut out the middle of an area as long as there are paths to enter and exit from either side?

That seems reasonable to assume it could, I honestly don’t know if that works or not. It may or may not work reliably when generating the plan. My hunch is, that it wouldn’t work.

If a no-go zone divides an area into two separate parts, and there is no valid path within the area to travel from one side to the other, the map will be considered invalid. In that case, the system won’t be able to calculate a proper route.

If you execute a plan for that area that has a NGZ creating separate parts, will it do both sides if there is a valid route to both sides?

Why???

@rcguymike Hi there, could you please clarify your question so we can better assist?

@Yarbo-Forum still curious on the answer to this question.

Sorry for missing this earlier.

I’ve checked with our field service engineer, and currently the system treats an area as a whole during route calculation. If a no-go zone splits the area into two separate parts, it may fail to calculate a route — even if there are valid paths to access both sides.

No worries, understood. Thank you for the clarification.

Sorry, super busy the last couple days, here’s a zoomed screenshot of the route Yarbo takes on it’s way back to the dock for charging…it makes random extra turns, goes past where it needs to and then turns around only to go back yet another directions. In the other pictures you can follow the very faint route planning path and it’s weird…it’s probably due to the overlapping areas? Will this be a problem in summer or if those areas that overlap more than usual have only the snow blower tag it should be fine?

Thanks for sharing the details and screenshots.

The unusual routing behavior may require our support team to review the system logs to identify the root cause.

As for your second question, if an area is labeled specifically for snow blower use and there are other valid paths available for Yarbo to reach the target point, the lawn mower should be able to navigate without passing through the snow blowing area.
