We're ready for snow

…aaaaaaany day now. Please.

Can you turn the dock to where the front lip of the DS is flush with the pathway? Those stones are going to get tossed.

Nothing but really unpleasant freezing rain here today unfortunately.

I was thinking the same thing. Or remove the rock and put some pavers in.

I’m going to put pavers there in the spring if I decide to keep the dock in this location. Sending the mower out isn’t a problem, I did it many times without an issue. I recently had an issue with the snowblower when I told it to go back and recharge but I’ve since enabled Plow Mode to keep the auger from spinning up. I’m not going to send it out to blow snow fully autonomously this season so I’m no longer worried about throwing stones.

Same here. I was hoping for some actual snow, no such luck.

When I initially installed my Yarbo, I didn’t want to invest in anything permanent, because I thought it best to wait and see how Yarbo performs with the dock in that location. Especially since Yarbo gets used all year long, and in a wide variety of weather conditions, I needed to wait until I was sure the dock location would work all year long. Now that I’ve seen that the dock works even in winter (so far), I’ll be doing a permanent install with pavers come spring.

I really needed to get it up and running for mowing, which overall it did a great job with. My trimmer is coming at some point and I think this dock area will be fine but I’m waiting to see with the trimmer attached.

I’m going to buy a spreader when it gets released but I really don’t think it will fit in the current area. I’m just not 100% happy with this location but so far I don’t know of a better alternative for year round use. I’d rather not have two docks so I keep thinking of alternatives for both mowing, trimming, snow, and spreading.

My DC install is 100%, my dock is most definable going to be moving some day.

I did a lot of internal debating about the pros/cons of having two docks. One for warm weather, and one for Winter.
My problem is the dock is located on the side of my house, which means in the winter, it needs to drive through the grass to get to the driveway areas. I wasn’t sure how viable that would be. While it’s early in the season, so far it seems to be just fine driving through the grass to get to the driveway. So unless something changes, that’s where the dock will stay. The big fabric Amazon dog house I bought during the summer has been great in keeping falling snow from accumulating on top of Yarbo as well.

So in the Spring, I’ll re-build the dock with decorative pavers underneath, and a permanent “dog house” structure as well.

I too share a double DS interest. We are building a house so I’m probably going to just build a permanent pad for it with a little sidewalk to the driveway and access to the yard. So if I forward think a little one should do the trick.

Yea, so far I think if properly placed, 1 dock should be sufficient. Just a case of thinking it through and planning accordingly.

In my case, I might do a full paver walkway along the side of the house next year so Yarbo doesn’t need to drive on the grass during the winter.
