Yarbo had worked 5 minutes on the area next to the road then I turned off PPVS but it was too late. Yarbo was already out in the field. Lucky it wasn’t out on the road. Haven’t experienced Yarbo outside the boundary inside the garden under the trees.
Poor guy. I’m glad you guys are testing this because I’ve had PPVS off since day one. I was watching a live stream and Ryan kept showing how PPVS was kicking in. My initial thought was how great it was but then got me thinking, what if it lost GPS close to a boundary and just rolled on through into the road, ditch, water, etc.
Personally, from what I’ve seen from others, PPVS is great until it’s terrible. I really like the idea but unless some vision or some other tech gets added in to make sure Yarbo doesn’t go out of bounds, this will probably keep happening to people. From where I’m sitting, it kind of feels like PPVS shouldn’t have been added by itself.

Lots of things Yarbo added shouldn’t have been added by itself. They should strive to make operation consistent between versions and allow (or direct) the user to only change the things they want to change.
I’m sorry to hear about the out-of-boundary issue. I believe this may require further investigation from our support team. Since I wasn’t able to locate any support ticket regarding this in our system, could you please submit a support ticket for this issue if you’d like us to identify the root cause?
We’ll also continue working on improving PPVS to make it more reliable.
This initial release of PPVS does NOT utilize the cameras in estimating or tracking position. It is strictly based on odometer (distance tracking) and IMU (heading and deviation detection) only.
The cameras are planned to be included in a future version.
That’s actually a pretty cool video. Considering what rgloverii stated earlier, once they get to a solid build that utilized all the sensors in a smart manner, it should be pretty awesome.
