Yarbo a little off the docking station when returning for charging

Why is Yarbo off when returning to docking station for charging ? I have reinstalled docking station as a 1st step without results.

Is there by chance snow build up under the Yarbo core unit?

Is your dock on flat and level ground? Does it dock successfully eventually? It may just need to be recalibrated. If flat and level and nothing causing track slippage then I’d suggest opening a ticket.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out. Are you seeing any recharge failure messages in the app when this happens? That information can help narrow down the cause.

In many cases, this behavior is related to docking misalignment. Possible causes include:

  • Slippery surfaces or debris on the docking station pad or on Yarbo’s tracks

  • Magnetic sensor interference or a sensor issue, sometimes caused by nearby metal objects

You can try the following steps:

  • Clean the docking station pad and Yarbo’s tracks to improve traction

  • Remove any nearby metal objects that could interfere with the sensors

  • Manually re-park Yarbo, making sure it is properly centered on the charging pad

If the issue continues after trying these steps, please contact support so we can help check the docking station and sensors more closely.

mine often seems a bit off when docked, can usually dock first try though. My dock isn’t really installed per spec though

Mine has developed the habit of running off the back edge of the DS and getting stuck on the first clearing pass. After I assist him in backing up, he does fine on the second pass and parks fine.

Mine usually looks a bit off center when docked as well. I’ve wondered about it, but assumed it was likely a programming error.

Looks pretty well centered in my case.

That’s map drift. Your DS or DC moved at all?

I was experiencing the same. I reinstalled my dock to try correct it. Winter docking is def a different success rate than summer/fall.

Nope. Nothing has moved at all.

Doesn’t seem to affect docking. Just looks off kilter on the map sometimes, but on the actual dock it looks perfect.

Ok. I just thought about it: I bet it’s caused by less than ideal GPS where the dock is placed. The dock is against the side of my house.

So Yarbo ‘thinks’ its position is slightly askew as opposed to reality due to the marginal GPS signal.

Yes, yellow or red GPS will do that. But that is what map drift looks like when the GPS is green while docked.

It’s usually yellow after sitting on the dock for a while. It goes green after driving off the dock and getting a clear view of the sky.

Mine sits center, it slips a little when trying to dock in the snow or icy. Signal usually yellow, orange when sitting under hung but goes green when it takes off the dock

I have set the dock cleaning to 0 and it parks perfectly backwards. It seems that the dock cleaning 1 or 2 setting is the issue. I will try to defrost my unit and clean up the dock manually and retry. I will keep you posted when done.
