It’s been almost 1.5 hours now, and Yarbo is still charging, albeit at a reduced rate.
Ambient temperature is 96.8 degrees
Battery cell temperature is 120.2 degrees
Charging power is holding steady at ~225 watts
Charging is slower; we’ve gone from 29% to 56% in the last 1.5 hours. But Yarbo hasn’t stopped charging (yet). So far, so good.
I guess I should specify - Yarbo is 100% stock, with no modifications for cooling. Only the fabric dog shelter and the dock being on a shaded part of the property.
Is yarbo’s diagnostic page temps in C the same as the temps you see in HA?
Yes, matches perfectly. showing 49C in the diag screen, which equals 120.2F which is what I’m seeing in HA.
Keep in mind, there are 6 cell temp readings in HA. I deliberately chose to monitor the one that tends to register the hottest.
Yarbo can’t cut no 6 acres taking that long to charge. Yikes
Yea, the reduced charge rate kills productivity.
Need to have Yarbo start very early in the morning in order to get 2 cutting sessions done before end of day.
At least charging didn’t stop completely. But charging time is roughly doubled.
That does not work for me cutting early as the morning dew lasts till at least 11am most days, and then sets back in after 7pm, short window here. I wish they had a summer battery.
Speaking of battery I saw a post that Yarbo figured something out so 4 hour battery pulls might be ending.
Yep - that is good news.
Is the temperature information posted in the wiki still accurate? I mowed today. The battery temp was 45C at the end of the mow. I just checked it and it’s reporting 55C battery temperature. It was still charging with no over temp warning. Per the wiki, it should have stopped charging.
Should still be accurate, but that temp reading is only from one of 6 sensors. It may even average them. But it doesn’t show that it stopped charging in the app view. Only in diagnostics or charging status light on the dock would make it apparent.
I really think Yarbo should be comping the Core Skin, since it’s not going to be able to finish a big yard in a timely manner in this heat.
