Yarbo failing to mow some stripes

Once this happened, I did not bother as might be some GPS failures or whatever … but on next mow it missed the same stripe again + some other stripes.

However while looking at the work plan, everything was nice and even with no extra gaps.

Area settings were: no vision and no boundary obstacle avoidance, adaptive pattern, smart turn, 10cm overlap, perimeter buffer 5 cm, NGZ buffer 3 cm

The trees are marked as NGZs.

Ticket submitted.

I have seen some missed stripes also in other areas, but they are very rare and more random.

Has anyone seen something similar with their mower?

I see the same thing today.

Hi there, thanks for submitting a ticket for this issue. This definitely appears to be abnormal behavior, and we’ll continue investigating the root cause further.

Is 10cm overlap the maximum setting? I use the 8 inch overlap option (20cm) to minimize missed sections.

20 cm is max setting, but that would mean even more time spent to mow an area.
Some tiny missed spots (where yarbo is turning around) might be addressed with overlap, but in my case it’s somehow completely missed the stripe and this appeared with some of the latest updates.

I am having the same issue as well.

Never seen that many, and I run 4" overlap. Did they appear on the map as being skipped?

I see it mainly when it cuts the turns too short and doesn’t reverse when it finally does get back on the path line. It’s also pretty consistent where it does it. The checkerboard helps get it on the next cut since it moves that problem to a different location.

I’ve seen some small skips at the path entry point but not the entire stripe. (Checkboard pattern). Are you seeing something different?

Yeah, I’ve seen it miss the small spots and also sometimes track ever so slowly back onto the path line. Basically not reaching the center of the line until it gets to the other side. It definitely does this more with obstacle avoidance than anything else.

You’re saying that it won’t appear on the mowing path plan as missed stripes and doesn’t happen as frequently or at all with Gentle Touch?

Correct, but if you watch it in the app, you will see it tracking beside the line instead of following it centered.

Gotcha. Thanks.

I’ve never seen it that bad before either. Hope they figure it out soon.

I saw this a lot recently this spring. My experience was that it was because the lawn was so long. The treads would push down the grass on the first pass so they were too flat to cut on the return pass but would get pushed back up by the mower.

They were all gone by the second or third mowing using either path offset or the auto-rotation. I prefer the auto-rotation because it definitely gets rid of those missed spots on subsequent mows and have mine set to 20 degrees, but there are a few areas I would rather have the Yarbo go the same direction each time.

It would be great to have a 6" offset option for this as the 8" would greatly increase the mowing time.

The 8" overlap helps but I still see uncut grass. I followedthe mower and noticed it does not cut well in the center where the 2 blade ends meet when spinning.

Yup. Long grass and wide treads. Need to do an immediate second mow but there isn’t time. The other areas are waiting for the their turn

Every mow cycle brings us closer to that $1100 replacement battery.

You hit a nerve there. Running at the thermal limit and managing with reduced charging rate. Nothing good is going to happen.

Now I’m playing around the setting and it might be that the mow path offset setting could be causing this …

Let’s hope this gets fixed.

I really like adaptive pattern as it looks like it takes less amount of time than other patterns, but without path offset it will wear the lawn, leave some spots at the same places etc.
