3 D printed Mulching/cutting discs

That’s the idea. It’s printing now.

I will post the STL file on Thingiverse in a day or so.

Posted on Thingiverse. Under Yarbo crossing disc.

That looks amazing. If it works and interested in selling, I would purchase two sets.

I’m printing some up now to test. I’ll let you know

I weighed the discs off my Y mower deck and they weigh 162 grams. Going to keep the weight of the printed discs the same.

By the looks of the mounting area, the M mower discs bolt up the same as the Y mower deck.

You mean the Pro discs?

This is interesting. Given the diverse work environments the mower deck was designed to handle, how much of a negative impact would the weight of the blade make? There are a multitude of variables impacting torc.

I agree that a big weight difference would slow the motors getting up to speed but a relatively small difference would make a negligible difference to the life of the motor’s. All things considered.

I just weighed both the stock blade and the latest rendition I just designed and mine is 20 grams heavier.

I am not pushing to sell these blades, just engaging in a theoretical discussion.

tested these today. The annealed sharp plastic edges cut pretty well on the first run.

For the life of me I don’t know why I didn’t make the cutting grooves deeper so I could attach the metal blades to the hub. Strength, aesthetics? Maybe next version.

Fancy!

Lol. We’ll see how they hold up

If you need a tester …

You were the first person to come to mind Peter

I just uploaded a FANCIER version 2 to Thingiverse

Which version would you like Peter Version 1 or Fancier version 2

@peterfabri18 needs the fanciest version.

LoL

Fancier of course Bryan is right!

You know me well
