Invitation to Test the New Cutting Disc Design for Yarbo Lawn Mower

Hello everyone,

As mowing season begins, we’ve received an increasing amount of feedback regarding broken cutting discs. We’ve listened to your concerns and are actively working on developing new cutting discs. After extensive internal testing, we’re excited to report that the new design shows significant improvements. However, we believe that real-world testing in a variety of lawn environments will provide us with valuable feedback to further improve the cutting discs.

Therefore, we’re inviting 15 users to help us test the newly designed cutting discs.

To join the group of 15 testers, we’re looking for users with challenging lawn conditions:

  • If your cutting discs frequently break during regular use

  • If your lawn is tough, with obstacles like sticks, rocks, debris, or uneven terrain

If you’re willing to participate and share your experience, please vote below to join the testing. It would be helpful if you could share a picture of your lawn in the comments as well. We will contact selected users via email with further details.

Are you interested in participating in the testing of our new cutting discs?

  • Yes, I would be happy to join.
  • No, but I do expect the release in the future.

Thank you for helping us improve the Yarbo Lawn Mower!

Count me in! I have a really challenging yard, with loads of sticks and stones. Terrain is quite uneven too, had no disk break on me yet (knock on wood), but already snapped two blades, and the blades clog a lot!
The biggest challenge is the steepness of my grounds, but we will find a solution for that too!
Loads of sticks coming from the surrounding trees and roots!

Count me in. I definitely have the trifecta of difficult terrain, rocks, and frequent new deposits of sticks from nearby trees in my yard.

I would love to test. My yard is difficult with a lot of sticks and other obstacles.

@Yarbo-Forum - I don’t have nearly the conditions you’re looking for to test a new design, but I have a question:

I ordered two of the current discs for backup, but I haven’t heard anything about shipment. Is Yarbo holding off on shipping them until this new design is available, which I heard is within the next few weeks after testing completes? Or is it (more likely!) just waiting for stock of the current design?

Interested in testing the new discs as well, these Oaks drop twigs and branches everytime I sneeze it seems. Also have crayfish mounds that popup daily and get rock hard in the sun.

Also in the “waiting for spares on order” camp, any updates on parts shipping out soon? Seeing increasing reports of broken discs, getting nervous, seems to be only a matter of time.

Lots of grass to mow (11 acres). Farm land, so lots of terraces, but also a fair number of trees, including magnolia’s which drop razor blade eating seed bombs apparently continuously…

And lots of sticks and branches, especially after windy days. Not QUITE this big regularly, but it was a picture I had easily available.

I’d be happy to test. I have plenty of sticks in the yard and some of the areas that are bare have rocks dislodged from time to time. I cringe every time my Yarbo encounters a larger than expected stick or stone! As you can see from the pictures I live near the woods and am still cleaning up from the last ice storm. My property is hilly and there is no level spot!

My cutting disc Broke after the first mow. I ordered replacements a month ago and they still haven’t arrived. The cutting blades only lasted about 1 month, before they are worn to nubs.

From France, i would be happy to test new cutting disc. One of mine broke today  just ordered new one but I would like to try the new ones:)

My property has sticks and dog poop, but I have a field with much rougher terrain next door (and you know I’ll put it through its paces ).

I have a very tough yard, about 4 acres, a willow tree that drops tons of fine branches, pine trees with pine cones, about 4 different types of grass, and weeds too. I also get lots of tree seedlings that pop up in areas also, and three dogs that poop wherever they want, lol. That is why I have 4 disks on order that have not shipped yet. I removed my blade gaurds already before I even try to mow even once. Thanks.

I would definitely test, just today my blades got caught on the guard. They didn’t break but came real close. My yard is a large field (around 2 acres of mowing) with trees lining it so definitely has sticks falling around the edges.

Here is a picture of the blade catching today. I will have to get a picture of the yard in the morning as it’s dark now.

Please add some air vanes so the blades generate suction to lift up the grass for a better cut.

@jbellmore - a lot of people get rid of those side guards (at least just the lower piece you can get at without removing the disc) to prevent exactly what you’re seeing. I’ve done so myself. It is a safety feature, so I’ll leave any action you decide to take to your discretion.

Thank you for your patience, and we apologize for the delay in dispatching the cutting discs. We are not holding off on sending them due to the new design. The delay is because the stock was temporarily out at our local warehouse. However, the new batch of cutting discs will arrive at the warehouse this Thursday, and we will send them out as soon as possible. You can expect to receive a tracking number shortly after they are processed. We appreciate your understanding!

Is that just for US or all countries?

Are you referring to the stock of cutting discs or the testing of the new cutting designs?

I was referring to the reply to Ken on the stock. I believe it was US stock you were referring to. But since you asked, I guess for both is valid.
