I cannot attest to whether or not they affect accuracy. If you’re concerned about breakage I would recommend getting some spares on order to have on hand. I don’t use the covers and have not needed to this far. YMMV
My thinking is I have pine trees that are closer to the ground, bushes too
I do too. So far hasn’t been an issue but I do use vision in that area and it keeps a decent distance away but I do see the tree limbs periodically brush against the unit or RTK. Nothing that concerns me. The low mount RTK antennas can make a big difference here.
So this brings up a good point since you guys have MUCH more experience than I do right now. Are you willing to share screenshots of your settings for your Yarbos? I am thinking a best practices method so that I cut the difficulties that others have experienced.
I saw those for sale on Amazon.
I have not used them or needed them. I don’t have a lot of low hanging limbs in the areas I mow.
I have had to replace the RTK and Halow antennas on the rover once.
Yarb has a roll over off the playset.
Same. Haven’t needed it.
I don’t mind sharing. I have received great advice here on the forum for things to try.
But I kind feel like you have to tune the settings to your yard and your liking.

Nod to @Ken “Regular” for taking the time to put it together.
A very nicely designed see through sun shade!
Right It does nice when low hanging limbs slide right up and over the Yarbo name on it’s nose of the mower. Then right over the antennas over the back. It doesn’t block anything from the DC or Sats that I’ve seen, and protects the antennas. Now if this wonderful hat idea would somehow have a fan design, to pull the extra heat out of the battery hold. Well let’s just the the latency bouncing all over the place, and GPS to lock in first.
Then we could get some grass cutting going on.
I’d bet you’re 60% there, just passively.
Pull the battery cover underneath and leave it off.
Short term, painter’s tape some 8x11 paper under that lexan and see if there’s any real temp reduction. Block any sunlight from hitting any dark areas of the core.
I’d be curious how much farther along the charge cycle you’d get before overheat. If it does something meaningful, paint the underside of that lexan white (or even make a stripe to match the yellow), or better, make it reflective. Keep the dark areas from getting sunlight.
It might be a bust. But that plastic gets hot to the touch in sunlight, even when not charging. Your YarboHat might just give it enough shade to charge better.
If you try these things please share your results. I think we’re all fighting the heat…
