I was trying to clear an unmapped section of my yard with the Yarbo and physical controller, but I found that there was no way (that I can see) to engage the impeller without using the mobile app. And since it doesn’t let me use the mobile app and physical controller at the same time, there’s no way that I can find to use the snowblower properly with the controller. It is currently 18 degrees Fahrenheit and after a couple minutes of using my exposed fingers to control via my phone, it gets extremely uncomfortable.
Please let me know if I’m missing something but I can’t see anything in the manual for the controller that would allow me to do this.
You have to hold these for a few seconds before it engages. Continue holding and eventually I believe you can let one go. You still have to hold the dead man’s switch and one of the triggers to move and run the impeller.
I think holding both right back buttons wouldn’t be too terrible. Would be nice if you could let go once it starts moving and have a 10 second timeout if it stops or something.
The last snow storm we had few days ago, I cleaned one driveway and Yarbo moved to second driveway. The battery was low enough to send Yarbo back to recharge, so I decided to try to use the controller to finish a very small area manually using the controller. It was not easy. I could not drive Yarbo straight, it was hard to switch the chutes left and right as Yarbo was making 180 deg. turn without gloves in the cold. Yarbo had so much delays in responding to commands using the controller. Sometimes it was dangerous because Yarbo would continue executing previous command or keeps moving in a direction that you do not want. Not sure if there is a better way to eliminate or reduce the delay between the controller and Yarbo
To @rgloverii point, I find Bluetooth unreliable for the reasons you saw with the controller. I disable Bluetooth on my phone when working with the core and have a much better experience. If the app gives you the same results, try that.
Ideally, you should have WiFi turned OFF on the Core. All communication therefore takes place via the Halow link to and from your Data Center.
While theoretically the Core can also function via WiFi, in practice it tends to cause issues due to poor WiFi signal strength, and the core trying to fail over to Halow periodically.
The Yarbo app on your cell phone tends to have issues for some people when using Bluetooth, and therefore it might be more reliable for your phone to use either WiFi or cellular.
