API and SDK formally announced. Coming ‘next month’

Great news everyone!

API, SDK, and official HomeAssistant support have been formally announced by Yarbo, and are targeted for release next month!

They also announced an add on called ‘CoreBridge’ that will allow for switched voltage output for user created devices (think 12v sprayers, etc). This is not expected for release until 2027.

That will be great. Don’t love the word “targeted” though. Even “expected” would be better.

It all depends on how testing goes. That can delay things. At least they have officially said something though.

The release i saw only mentioned 2027. Where is the one that says next month?

I think that was for the full open platform and SDK. Home Assistant, Alexa, etc he verbally said end of next month.

Link for reference 21 mins in.

Great news. Looking forward to proper home assistant integration next month. “Targeted” in one person’s mind sets the “expected” in another person’s mind.

They referenced DC 2.0 at 40 mins mark. What’s the timing on Data Center 2.0 for Y platform?

I’m about to hire someone to install the DC I purchased several weeks ago (assuming it’ is 1.0). Hate to pay to have DC 1.0 installed only to have 2.0 released a couple weeks later.

I want the Home Automation integration!

I’d imagine around August when he M launches. You will be able to do the home automation integration with the 1.0 as well. While there are some good upgrades to the Y series DC, it will still support the Y series for everything they announced.

Thank you

Why does this should like such a carefully worded statement?

Is this why the current integration has gone stagnant? Hopefully they reached out and either hired him or paid for his work:grin:

That was my guess. Hired or purchased…..

Because things happen and priorities shift. People don’t like being disappointed. At least it shows they want to get it out, but carefully.

To be honest, I was rather pleasantly surprised at their timeline…. Didn’t expect a release so soon.

“The Data Center 2.0 is compatible with the Y series, too.”

That’s exciting news.

Indeed it is! I suspect once they have it finalized it will replace the 1.0 with any new Y series.

I will too. Thankfully my current DC is ground mounted.

Yarbo posted a new video about this.

I love it, but Ken just bit off a lot! Since he gave the date as 2027, I wonder how the HA Integration “targeted” for next month fits in?
