Auger not working!!!

I replaced my belt. The hardest part was getting the single screw on the side in place. Once that was in place, I had to make sure the belt was tight. The video posted on a thread here shows how to push the motor away from the auger pulley.

I did spin the motor and auger (without belt) and both moved easily and smoothly.

Not sure my experience helps you. I did make a run with a 1/2inch snow fall this morning and it went well.

I followed the video, and marked where the motor screws were prior to replacing. Things do move by hand, though the auger moves only a little at a time (probably normal, based on gearing). I’m starting to thing the motor burned out.

That’s smart marking the positions. Yes, it’s normal for it to move only a little at a time.

I could easily spin the auger gear (without belt) with very little resistance.

I could post a video if it helps.

That helps. Thank you.

Replaced my belt (and yes that screw in the back took all the time). The only issue I had was the snow clogging the auger. I wish there was an alert to let me know when it was building up.

Remove the safety guards and the plume diverter. It will help. So will a good ceramic coating and or a snow blower spray in the chute, impeller, and intake box.

Thank you. As I was cleaning, I recalled comments about the spray. Could you be more specific on the plume diverter? The entire diverter, the angle adjustment piece, or the small piece at the rotating base?

The little plastic piece at the bottom of the chute. Reinstall the screws you remove from it.

Interestingly, the snow wasn’t wet or heavy when it fell but rather light and fluffy. I believe the buildup resulted from melting snow and Yarbo’s activity. When I tried making a snowball from the deck snow, it didn’t hold its shape.

I’ll remove the guard and the plume diverter and prepare the spray for the next snowfall.

Not sure what type of surface you are clearing, but I have found that if you don’t clear all the way down (zero auger height) to a hard surface like asphalt (at least in my area) it will start to melt and clog on the second pass. Perhaps a factor?

Got an update. I took everything apart again, and removed the belt. The main gear turns just like the video dsapp463 provided. I looked further on the motor, and even though it turned, it had some wire from the shredded belt wrapped on it still (pretty tight, missed it originally). I got all of that removed and took the smaller gear off of it to make sure. Put everything back together and left the belt off. Same issue (kind of a “clicking” and then “auger overcurrent”). I’m thinking at this point the motor must be shot, and it doesn’t look like it’s an easily-replaced part. Hope I hear back from support soon.

Definitely sounds like it is a motor issue at this point. Hopefully they get it resolved for you quickly.

I’ll review my second pass height, but think it’s zero. The surface is concrete.

I meant on the first pass, have it clear to zero. Second pass as well.

Ah, yes. I kept it higher for the first pass.

That could be it then, mine looked pretty similar after when I did the same.

Or maybe even raise the first pass height higher? Or just do 1 pass. I found if you don’t have enough volume entering the bucket it sticks much faster. If you have enough volume going through it “scrapes” some out and the momentum keeps things flowing
