Battery Issue Persisting

@Yarbo need help! First major issue. Unit was working fine, started getting a Left Camera disconnected error, then Battery Issue B004 error that persists despite many resets, and no module is detected despite switching out M1 for SAM.

I can still drive the core by the way, but lightsdont sequence right and never get a “Ready to Work"…

And I notice the left front side light blinks red twice repeatedly.

Get a ticket opened. That definitely indicates an error. Possible hardware issue.

Doesnt posting here open a ticket? Not sure how to get it done if not. My Yarbo app doesn’t connect to support for some reason.

It doesn’t unfortunately. The forum moderator is very good about following up on tickets for people and helping out with advice. Email support@yarbo.com or goto support.yarbo.com and click on my area to open a ticket there.

Yup - thanks! I made a ticket via e-mail and response was nearly immediate. The diagnosis of a failed chip on the power board was made within 12 hours of my email to them! Not happy that it failed, but the customer service was second to none! Replacement core promised to arrive within 7 days! And they’ve already backed up my maps.

@Bob_Shadis Hi Bob,

Sorry for the delayed response due to the holiday break. I’m glad to see that the issue has been resolved. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further questions after receiving the replacement.

Yay, my replacement is on the truck for delivery sometime in the next few hours! Fingers crossed that all goes well with it! I have a few questions for anyone dealing with recent replacements - 1. Are there instructions for unpacking such that repacking the defect unit is easy and secure for shipping? Like strapping for instance… Any hints from the experienced few? 2. Are there any bits off the defect unit that you’re allowed to keep for spare?

You may find this guide helpful in swapping the cores.

As far as repackaging this is what I recommend. Slide the straps off the box. Don’t cut them. You can make this easier by working those cardboard reinforcement corner braces out from under the straps. If you get one of those out, it makes the straps come off a lot easier. Slide all the straps off. Roll the box on the sides as needed, gently and get them all off and sit them aside. Take some pics of the packing setup throughout so you know how it goes back together. When you repackage the old core, use some filament strapping tape and tape the box up really well. I looped around a few times from each side. This will help hold things in place when you go to put the straps back on. Yarbo doesn’t require the straps and the bracing, but it does help keep things together nicely once they are reinstalled. Put the straps on one side first, install the braces. Then put the straps on the other side and then the braces. The straps are different sizes, slightly based on which side of the box they are for.

You should get instructions in an email from Yarbo on proper packing. Here is the link to that from the email. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoj8HCYTc1XECAaODxs-xMluhREslVDBk&si=ZowyUr8BAgZpBDpA

Link to the type of tape I recommend.

This is straight from the email you should get shortly after delivery of your replacement:

Please note the following important points:

  1. Use the original packaging/foam to pack the damaged unit. Ensure that the items are packed according to the distribution standard. Wrap the carton with tape 360° to prevent the package from splitting, and have it ready for pickup at the selected time. Please refer to the following packing precautions:

    • Yarbo Core: If your DC is trouble-free, there is no need to replace it. Just put the broken core, the new DC, and the physical controller into a carton together.

    • Yarbo Core Accessories: Includes SAM, wired charger, RTK antenna*3, Halow antennas*2, Bluetooth antenna, POE adapter.

    • Docking Station: Includes wireless charging station, power cord, wire protector.

    • Snowblower Module: Includes snowblower, plow blade, protection fence component, snow chute.

    • Lawn Mower Module: Lawn mower.

    • Blower Module: Blower.

    • Battery: The battery must be individually packaged in a separate carton. Mixing the battery with other packages is prohibited.

  2. Feel free to click the following link to learn all about the packaging process: Packaging Process Guide

  3. Please take photos of the packaged items for your own record. These photos can be used in case any accessories are lost during the return process or if damage occurs due to packaging issues.

  4. If you need to modify the pickup time, change requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the originally selected time. Changes within 48 hours of the scheduled pickup are not permitted.

Because there are frequent noise makers about bad experiences I’m going to make a new post here and on FB to recap the scenario around this failure. For now I will just say that nearly to the hour, exactly 1 week from moment of failure, my replacement core is received, map downloaded, and back online. Promises made, promises kept. I could not be happier with this company and especially their customer support.:+1:

I think that’s the norm for humans. When things work we just take them for granted. But when something doesn’t work we can get vocal.
