Best practice to create maps with your trimmer included

Hi all,

Would it be an idea to create this thread for suggestions and best practices to setup your map with the trimmer attached.

I just installed the trimmer and thinking to remap my area {3.5 acres so not a small feat).

I noticed that in some areas I want to get closer to the edge or inside a no-go zone to get those last grass bumps gone.

Also I would like to go Yarbo deeper into some corners. When I first mapped I stayed far away from going inside corners because I was afraid that Yarbo would be stuck.

But now that I know the behavior better I would like to make sure I get the most out of Yarbo and go into the corners and closer to the edges and underneath bushes. Mower and trimmer combined.

So I would like to make this thread about this with tips and good guidelines so we can get the most out of this wonderfully machine.

What do you all think?

@Yarbo-Forum feel free to delete this thread if you think it does not belong here.

@all start commenting if you agree or just write your good ideas and knowledge down.

Cheers

Instead of remapping you could consider memory paths where the trimmer isn’t getting as close as you’d like. If you have the safety buffers not at zero, there’s another way you could get closer.

Thanks Bryan.

But with the safety buffers it is overall, correct? So I cannot change it just in certain areas…

Could you elaborate about memory paths?

Not sure what function it is.

Thanks

You are correct, safety buffer is for the entire area or the entire NGZ.

Memory path is like mapping a dead end. Except it records everything you do. You can start and stop the trimmer and record you doing the trimming manually. Yarbo will replay this and you can add them to work plans or make them in their own trimming work plan.

When using memory paths, lowering the speed seems to help some with the thick trimming.

That sounds great. I will play around with that. Is there a manual or so that explains this in detail?

I believe they are working on one, but nothing currently.

Is a memory path only available with the trimmer? Seems like a great solution for all implements, would solve a lot of mapping trickieness.

Edit: found the answer in another thread. Only available with the trimmer at the moment.

Yes, only trimmer. I agree, it could solve so many issues for users instead of Yarbo trying to solve it for them. Oh the robot can’t do this… No problem, I will do it myself and just have it record it and play it back. Memory path for all modules!

Yes. Yes. Yes. I thought there was another thread to vote on this request but can’t find it now.

Sure seems like a no brainer!

I’d love to know why they don’t quickly implement some of these presumably low hanging fruit changes that will significantly improve the user experience.

Great use for perimeter lap!!!
