Yarbo is designed to return to a charging station when instructed, when required, or when work is completed, and the rover should self-correct (if possible) if not on or aligned to the charging station physically within a period of time, and there should be a notification when the machine fails to begin charging when it should.
The Yarbo returns to charge at its Docking Station, assuming it can navigate back:
- When told to recharge in the App’s controller
- When it is running a Work Plan and its charge level runs low and a “return to the Docking Station to charge” is triggered
- When the Work Plan completes
Sometimes the machine does not start charging:
- The machine does not make it back to the docking station
- The machine makes it back there but does not start charging due to some hardware or firmware issue
- The machine makes it back there but is not aligned correctly
As the Yarbo system “knows” it “should be” in a charging state, when charging does not commence within a reasonable period of time, a self-corrective action could be taken in some cases, and a notification should be sent when charging doesn’t start.
-
In the case of a misalignment or when the rover “should be” back on the Docking Station but is not, the rover should make another attempt to return to its charging location or correct its position on the charging station
-
If the rover does not begin charging when it is expected to, a Notification should be sent

- Some users have realized only too late that their rover isn’t charging, and a notification would have helped.
- One or two users have reported their rover on the charging station but not aligned properly, and this is something the rover may be able to correct on its own.
- Another case was the rover getting stuck and not getting back to recharge.
