Is it possible to tell when the Yarbo is centered on the charge pad and able to charge?

Running the Yarbo with the attached snowblower. I often have to manually position the yarbo on the charge pad and it’s a really difficult task - Try to line it up manually between the two yellow lines using the app or by hand, exit control section, click the icon at the bottom of the charge meter, repeat until I get the ok from the app / Yarbo. This can take me as long as 15 minutes and it’s no fun in freezing temperatures.

Is there a better way to tell when the Yarbo is in a position where it can charge successfully? A light or something?

You can use the position in the app on the map to judge a little, but no, not really. Any reason you can’t just hit recharge on the app controller and let it park itself?

For me, the line that matters is that little yellow one at the back of the pad. The rear edge of the core wants to be directly over it.

At least for me, left and right doesn’t actually matter very much, compared to that little yellow line. I’ve seen mine charge when a track is past the left dotted line, or the right dotted line. But that one above the CAUTION is the one that seems to count.

I was having issues and was having to manually adjust to get it to charge. There was a lip of ice building up at the bottom of the dock, I went out with an ice chipper and it’s now docking on it’s own. Would really be nice if it had an indicator or some way to grade alignment…and/or alert that said the accuracy or quality of docking is decreasing. Will also be interesting if they get the vision assisted docking working/helping soon too

Sorry to hear about the difficulty you’re experiencing. At the moment, we don’t have a clear or obvious indicator to show when Yarbo is positioned correctly for successful charging. That said, we’d like to better understand why you often need to line it up manually. Identifying the root cause may help us find a more effective solution or improvement. Could you share more details about what typically prevents it from docking automatically?

Getting it to park on the pad is just impossible to do reliably, and it’s easier to move it manually than re-install the dock for the hundredth time. I’m going to eventually open a ticket but I just wanted to know if what I thought was a basic feature existed.

Thanks! I’ve always stressed about the yellow side lines and maybe I shouldn’t. I’ll give this a shot next time.

Is that because it is too close to objects and hits them or from poor GPS or something? Is the pad on a flat level surface with a good level surface directly in front of it? It really needs good clearance in front of the dock and around the sides some too for it to maneuver. Per install spec, the dock itself needs to be no more than +/- 1 degree. That coupled with a good clear view of the sky for good GPS works wonders for it to dock well. If you have that, and it’s not, I would certainly recommend submitting a ticket for them to check it out. But as Steve mentioned you don’t need to agonize over the left and right yellow lines. The thing can park crooked and still charge. It has a surprising amount of wiggle room. I’ve seen someone park it backwards with the SAM attached and it charged. I don’t recommend that though.

Sorry to hear that. I only had sometimes problem recharging not because the positioning issues, but because of ICE from the snow and sometimes I may have to help it set on the pad properly. Otherwise, most of the time it goes to recharge once it is done or if I request recharge.

It consistently tries to go roughly 6 inches to the side of the pad as if it thinks that is the correct location. I have been deleting and re-adding docks via the Edit Map feature and the behavior is the same. I just went out to manually dock it again (sadly, none of the advice thus far has worked) and noticed that there’s a separate “reinstall docking station” option in settings. I just ran through the wizard and the unit is charging. I’ll report back when I can test it.

Not mine. It takes an incredibly long time to get it positioned just right before it lets me charge it. I just tried not caring about the side yellow lines to no avail. I would say it took me 10 minutes and at least 15 tries before it let me charge. The pad currently has some snow on it but I’ve had this same behavior with a completely clean pad and charge area.

Incidentally, I tell it to charge manually by moving it, exiting the controller section, pressing this button (while not charging), repeat. Is there a better way? The recharge option in controller mode makes it try to park itself.

My docking station would not work for self docking for over a month and a half. While I was dealing with Yarbo with their Logistics, sending me a replacement I had to use driveway marker sticks (it’s plastics sticks from Lowe’s that shows plow companies where your driveway edge is at) and positioned them exactly on the edge of the Rear view camera, so when Yarbo is right at the correct dock position, sticks will line up on the rear camera view, then painted small red line from of Yarbo front camera for alignment which worked for me.

I had to do it this way so I can recharge it when I’m gone off to work. After 2 weeks, I’ve gotten pretty good at it

There might be an issue with your dock. I’d definitely recommend submitting a ticket.

Tilt your Yarbo on its back and make sure bottom plastic module is not unseated from the main body, it is clipped by two plastic ears on each side on the metal frame

@me1 , Ouch! Your poor Yarbo. That’s not good for the attachment mechanics and steel locking pins, etc. When you go to the proctologist, does he make you lay on your face, downward facing dog style? Yeesh! Carefully prop it up on its side with supporting foam pads like chunks of the shipping foam or whatnot.

I have my wife’s extra cushion bras under it
