Fair is Fair - Pro Module Rocks!

Before pulling the trigger on the Pro bundle, I did my homework—hours of forum deep dives and scrolling through endless social media groups. The verdict? A mix of glowing praise, doom-and-gloom negativity, and everything in between. I decided to tune out the naysayers and give it a go.

At first, all I had to really play with was the leaf blower. And let me tell you, that thing was almost useless at first—temperamental, unpredictable, and constantly needing attention. The last two updates did calm it down a bit, but it was still like trying to babysit a toddler with a sugar high. It hit my SUV (Yarbo stood behind that and addressed - thank you!), ran into the street, took off into the woods and while I predicted it would dive into the pool it never did that. I did see someone else have that enjoyment though. To say I sh!t talked this thing was an understatement. Yarbo assured me they would refund everything if the Pro performed like the blower. I shut my mouth and waited for the Pro as that, and the snow blower was all I really cared about anyways. I just assumed if the leaf blower more complex modules would be a total sh!t show.

Fast forward to this past week with the Pro: WOW!!! Why couldn’t it have shipped like this from the start? Or at least had the blower pull its weight like this thing? In my 8,000 sq. ft. center circle for the driveway —16 giant oaks surrounded by hostas—it cruised through like it owned the place. No drama and never clipped a single hosta and in an area with no ngz’s.

The front yard? 16,000 sq. ft. with about the same oak-and-hosta setup. I’d overcompensated with no-go zones around every tree back in late July in my mapping. The ngz’s left too big a space of unmowed so they got deleted. Our entire property has underground sprinklers and my 61” zero turn has a stripping kit. Sure the lawn doesn’t look like a ball diamond anymore, but the stripes it does leave are nice. It’s been smooth sailing. Even sent it down my driveway into a 20K sq. ft. zone I hadn’t touched in 6 weeks (grass was basically a jungle. Didn’t even flinch, though it did take out a couple of my landscape lights on two trees but that is on me - I had a feeling that might happen.

GPS still has its occasional “I’m lost, where am I?” moments— on the driveway under open sky of all places with the leaf blower on. One day its useless the next fine, again only with the leaf blower on. Oddly enough under an 80% tree canopy in the lawn? Rock solid. One minor hiccup, otherwise perfect. The rest is just tweaking maps and no-go zones, you know, play with the other settings kind of things.

I hope the snow blower performs like this! Once these final GPS issues are addressed that many are reporting this thing kicks ass!

Thanks Yarbo - you have made a believer out of me.

Wow! Really nice to hear how much you’re loving the Pro mower. Now I wish I had one!

Strange thing is - I’ve been playing with the Blower module quite a bit over the past few weeks. And it’s working remarkably well for me. It’s NOT perfect (some of its path programming is quite silly actually) but I’m pretty sure it’s gonna alleviate the vast majority of the manual labor associated with the leaves on my property this season.

Well, I Jinxed myself! Had I not been watching it would have gone right into the pool. @jtag I had predicted it, you are one of the winners of the diving contest and I would have been next had I not been watching it. I have a NGZ around the pool but that didn’t matter. It had been with an Orange GPS signal for a few minutes but that area is pretty tight and it was going back and forth, making its turns every 10-12 feet. Then it makes a turn heads to the pool for its last run in this area and decided to take a plunge (all be it the cover is already on). The GPS issues have got to get addressed. Will open a ticket but suspect its just going to be another pile on for GPS concerns.

Suggest using railroad ties, concrete bollards or a dry moat (commonly used in europe around their castles) around the pool.

@w.borhauer- exactly. I just got a reply from support, and this is why I shake my head and am amazed at how unbelievable the support team is. The reply to my ticket has two paragraphs about how they have introduced dead reconning and how I can go in and increase my travel distance to avoid interruptions. Interruptions? Like me quick hitting pause so it doesn’t go into the pool, those kinds of interruptions?!

Unreal Yarbo, you certainly keep me amazed.

Yeah, there really is no solution other than them improving the GPS reception. Did you try the tall GPS risers, maybe they would improve the signal?

In your case, you really need dead reckoning distance < distance between the pool and the edge of the NGZ. If Yarbo can’t operate this way on your property, then your Yarbo is stuck between a rock and a very damp place.

@kinglerch - agree with you. Thing is it has operated in the area now 6 times in the past week and no issue including at 1AM. Today obviously not the case. Going to put a big NGZ going to this area for now and maybe this GPS issue will get worked out over the winter.

Hi Mike, thanks for sharing your experience with both the blower and the Mower Pro. We’re glad to hear the Pro is performing well for you! At the same time, we completely understand there’s still room for improvement with the blower module as well as Yarbo’s navigation in areas with weak GPS signals. Our team will continue working on optimizing these aspects. We’re also looking forward to hearing your feedback on the Snow Blower once winter arrives.
